Its possible magic derived from lyrium is different. I wouldn't be surprised if the Chantry didn't care though due to Dwarves' innate magic resistance making them ideal templars if it wasn't for the fact that there probably aren't tha many that are particularly faithful.

It's magical anti-magic, powered by the consumption of Lyrium.
Of course, since dwarves are naturally resistant to Lyrium I would think their abilities to disrupt magic would be limited at best... Still, they are resistant to magic which would make them more effective than a regular person at fighting mages and demons.

Maybe they are use only for their resistance and not magic anti-magic, that or somehow maybe he got some kinda of power like Sandal.

It may not matter. If they want to survive, they very well might have to inbreed.

It's not a big issue for animal breeds as humans if there's no conditions to pass on.

That's a good point.
I suppose they could just handwave it as "well we know nothing about griffon genetics so who says they can't inbreed?"
I feel like a neater solution for the narrative would've been if Isseya gathered a bunch of eggs from all over Thedas and then cleansed them all at once. I don't really understand why they all had to be from Smoke/Crooky, except for the emotional legacy of Galahad thing.

I believe it was because those were the last possible griffon eggs available, can't remember for sure.

Oh, yeah, they were, but that was because the author wanted that to be the case ![]()
There's no reason why she couldn't have had Isseya carefully going around and gathering the eggs from the last breeding griffon pairs in Thedas - it's not that implausible that there would have been others, somewhere.

Well you'd have to be very certain that there weren't any genetic abnormalities to pass on. With such a small base on which to build it would have to be essential. The Rare Breeds Survival Trust that deals in rare farm breeds has a set number of unrelated females that are needed for a viable breeding population. Zoos are also very careful now to ensure that they keep the gene pool as diverse as possible when trying to preserve rare animals.
Of course this is a fantasy setting so I suppose you could just overlook the downside of in-breeding by saying that genetic faults don't exist or can be magically removed.

I don't know whether this has been addressed before, but ... how could Garahel have seduced a Qunari in 5:12 Exalted? As far as we know, those guys did not arrive in Thedas before 6:30 Steel (ignoring the Kossith that settled in the Korcari Wilds ages ago).
Probably just an oversight by the author.
It was a throwaway joke line (Garahel was clearly kidding) so I wouldn't read much into it.

It's more likely to be either the Architect or Corypheous given that the other research the Chamberlain of the Grey wanted doing was focused on Talking Darkspawn.

Well, it can't be the Architect because the Architect is dead in a lot of playthroughs.

It's most likely Corphyeous then given he's mentioned in WOT. Maybe he's the reason the Hero Of Ferelden vanished? Dwarfs are resistant to Lyrium not completely immune that Dwarf trader in DAO was affected when he got Lyrium in his blood so it's not completely beyond the realm of believabilty that they can become Templars.

Unless the Architect are like Cryp then he would still be alive or it's possible one of his disciples have taken up his research.

Not if he possessed a tainted individual. Something like Cory might have did.

I've just began reading the book. Page 4 and the main character, an elven woman, is fawning all over Garahel's legend; therefore, I can only conclude that the legend will be absolutely shattered beyond repair by the end of the book.
Also, those two kids in the alienage must have been really stupid since apparently "every elven childs knows of Garahel".

He's probably bodyhopping like crazy. He's also probably hidden in the Warden Commander of Orlais' body.
I think this is most likely since this would allow him to give command to all wardens in Orlais with little issues and thus would be a big reason why we do attack a fortress filled with them. Put that with the fact they have lost contact with him and it does not bold well for that warden-commander.
