I think it's so that likes aren't just wasted on anything. You have to save them for posts that you genuinely do really like.

I was wondering also why we are limited in giving out likes. It's not like they pile up on your profile, or having too many would clog up the server....

In all seriousness, I think it's so people can't make alternate accounts or have friends give them thousands of likes a day.

I agree with that.for the people who would really do such a thing.i might need to question their sanity, because to me thats just insane.or maybe im a ******...really p.r.i.c.k got censored wow
