Didn't David Diablo say that Mass Effect could learn from Destiny?

Was looking forward to this title months ago, until I've seen the actual gameplay. I heard GS gave it 6.0/10 too, looks like the hype has come to an end finally.

GS is like super honest, but sometimes, they're just bad at review too. I mean, everyone had a b**** fit when they gave both The Last of Us and the Remastered version 8/10. LOL!

That feeling when most of complaints ITT are applicable to ME3MP without a stretch, yet they somehow don't count because "it's fun nevertheless".

It's almost as if when a game is still fun people are more willing to overlook issues with it.

And fun is such an unimportant aspect of a video game

And they gave CoD: Black Ops 9/10... I kinda like those low review score nowadays.

They rate on genre, I guess, but everyone think it's universal. Sometimes I like to troll overpraising fans.

I may be missing something, but most of the bitching in this thread has been pretty nonspecific. The most specific complaints have been:

- Aim assist makes headshots too easy
- PvP relies too much on gear
- Storyline missions are boring

Of these, only the first could be relevant to ME3 MP, and whether it's true depends on whether you find headshots easy in the first place. Of the others, ME3 obviously has no PvP, and keeps the storyline distinct from the multiplayer.

It's a purty game, I'll give it that. Beautiful layouts and maps. Played some on my nephews PS4 and while it's okay (he says after only playing it for 45 mins) I wouldn't want BioWare to take anything from Destiny and apply it to ME4.

ME3 multiplayer didn't pretend to be something it wasn't, it was just a fun co op horde mode. Destiny's missions are very similar to me multiplayer except destiny pretends to have an epic story behind it, when it's basically non existent and nothing is explained.

Also ME multiplayer was an additional feature to a game with a full single player campaign and wasn't a massively hyped full Triple A game with a six year development time.

Destiny is a good game but Bioware shouldn't learn from it. Polygon.com gave Destiny a 6.0/10, for good reasons too.

Not just Polygon mate, Gamespot gave it a 6/10 too. Apparently according to them Destiny is just a re-textured Halo with online grind.

Not sure why people complain about how easy it is to headshot, Halo is the same way.

And for anyone saying the PvE is easy, I'd suggest you try the harder missions. I have a level 26 Strike from an exotic bounty where you have to do the Moon strike and keep killing minions in the Phogoth fight until a second boss called Xyor shows up, where you presumably have to fight both bosses at once. You have to actually revive people to get them back alive (no 30 second respawn timer) and I can't even make it past the first forced fight area because whenever I shoot the Lv. 26 Hallowed Knights it just says "resist", even though I'm level 25 with a Legendary Auto Rifle.

And that isn't even as bad as the level 28 Weekly Nightfall Strike, where if you all die in a Darkness Zone it sends you back to orbit. No retries.

ME3 Multiplayer also has a really good variety on things. The weapons differ in so many ways while in Destiny it's just 3 varieties of weapons basically. In ME3 you had many different characters to play with, even from the start (with reset powers for the skill tree), in Destiny you have 3 varieties of classes and only 3 save slots for them (also no way to modify appearance in Destiny that I'm aware of).

Destiny reminded me a lot of Dragon's Dogma where the same enemies kept spawning in the same locations every time making it boring and predictable (thank God for Bitterblack Isle). Also I used to think that the AI in ME3 was dumb and predictable but it's nothing compared to the AI in Destiny.

Also, if it says that I'm about to start a different mission then why the heck do I need to go through the same area every time? It's just so repetitive and boring when you have visited the same area 20 times within the first 2 hours of gameplay.

And don't get me started on the grinding you have to do in order to buy Vanguard gear or Crucible gear.....

Basically Destiny is only a really cheap version of Borderlands 2 without any depth, variety or story. Also the gameplay of Destiny reminds me more of CoD (haven't played Halo) than Borderlands 2 which means that it is nowhere as much fun.

It's a nice game, I enjoy it so far. However lolstory, lolcharachterbulids, lolx360graphics. Anyway they should definitely add a PvP Sparrow race mode, cos' it would be glorious.

PS.

David was totally right. My Quarian Inflitrator should be able to dance, just like my Female Awoken Hunter.

This is pretty much exactly how I feel about it. I gave Destiny a few more hours, hoping that would change my opinion of it. So far it's only gotten worse. Talk about a massive let down. Probably will trade it in for Shadow Of Mordor.

Who cares about Destiny anyway? I still play Halo Combat Evolved on pc, Bungie released a new patch a few months ago to restore multiplayer since Gamespy shut down, thumbs up for them: they still remember fans of their old games, i can't say the same about EA.

Also on David Diablo's comment: it's probably a PR trick to make use of the latter game's hype, which is common nowadays in the video game industry, the word "could" means nothing, just like "we're taking fans' request into consideration" usually means "nope".

If destiny wasn't so expensive at launch I would have bought it by now because of the awesome previews it had. Howere, there's no way am going spend that much on a video game without properly reviewing it and giving it a few months.

I've learned not to trust trailers, previews etc. Reason is, all the best bit of a movie, for example, packed into a few minutes looks awesome but the reality is that most times all those best bits gets lost and distorted when it comes to the actual 1hour + movie. I have had times that at the end of a movie I find myself thinking that I didn't even see some bits shown in the trailer. So never trust the hype.

The first thing that hit me while watching Destiny videos was the repetitiveness but I put it down to probably watching different videos of probably the same missions. Now I think I might have been right judging from some of the comments.

Another thing I find a bit laborious is the upgrades and the sheer amount of skills. It looks quite complicated and long though I know it takes getting used too. ME3 is pretty straight forward for both SP and MP. I was on my third playthrough before I decided to give the MP a shot and I've been stuck on it since then.

The fact that we even compare ME3 and Destiny doesn't say much for Destiny at all. Let's not forget ME3 is like 2 years old and support for the game has been stopped for about a year so there is reason whatsoever that we should still be talking about ME3.

Anyway, I don't think Bioware can top what they gave us in ME3. This may sound pessimistic but  no am just being realistic. I strongly believe, Bioware will attempt to make an epic game and they might end up taking away everything we loved about ME3 instead of improving on them. I've seen this happen with many video games, however, I really hope this wont happen to the Mass Effect game.

There are so many things wrong with Destiny. While the worlds are vast and carefully created, they are sparse, sterile, and you can easily blow through a planet's storyline in under two hours (faster if it's a second playthrough). The ending is awfully disappointing, even though the game lacks any consistent storytelling, bouncing from plot point to plot point without bothering to explain how we got from A to D.

The loot system is flawed. The inventory is too small. Certain vendors take forever to refresh stock. There is no XP scaling, so killing a level 2 enemy yields the same XP as killing that same enemy if it were level 26. Killing elite units offers no additional bonus over the normal variant, despite being heavily shielded and packing 50% DR. There's nothing to do after finishing the campaign except for grinding, farming, and playing PvP.

There's even more that escapes me at the moment.

And yet, I can't stop playing it. Even though it's an objectively mediocre (at absolute best) game, it's way more fun than it has any right to be. The lore is genuinely fascinating, the shooting is solid, each class' super ability is fun in it's own way, the explorable areas are beautiful, the rotating hard-mode missions actually offer a considerable challenge (for co-op PvE, mind you), and the upcoming event schedule shows that Bungie is going to be at least as supportive of it as Bioware was ME3.

They rate on genre, I guess, but everyone think it's universal. Sometimes I like to troll overpraising fans.

The majority of mainstream game review sites are hilariously corrupt, and it's not uncommon for the publisher to offer the press incentives to write a positive review.

Well, I guess those people in the comment sites are right about game review sites being bribed. I guess you can't trust anyone but yourself to review it.
