Duh.
Let me hold you close to my bosom. I SHALL SAVE YOU FROM ALL THE PERILS OF THE WORLD.
*looks up* Finally I will know peace!
Tried to play dwarfs in the past but quit those early, the height I just, nope it bugs me too much. Will play all the other races quiet happily tho.
I'm the opposite... I like taller women. Does that mean I want to be protected? o_O
Lol then more power to you, as i said before, im not speaking for everyone but its a widely shared perspective of heights in women.
One exception to my stance is a qunari female, no idea why, just seems natural for her to be the taller one. Guess it adds to the exotic aura

Yes, this is how I feel... even though I love dwarven culture and Orzammar was one of my favorite parts of DA:O, their height is too much of a barrier for me to actually play as one.
I say height does affect my preferences. In a way. I'm not fond of playing dwarves but if I play a human female in a game I would shorten her(if given the option) because I'm short. Maybe it's the short stout thing that bothers me. idk. With men, I prefer them tall and nearly imposing no matter the race. So no dwarf male playthroughs and I couldn't get through my male elf playthrough.
I am a woman who is 198 cm tall and who is going to enjoy every single second of being able to play as a character who doesn't have to look up to talk to everybody.
I assume 198 cm is not what you meant since that would make you about 6'6 which is basketball player tall.

Glad to be of service!

Same. I so wanted to cackle in Bhelen's face and backstab him but I couldn't make it past the origin. As soon as my character had to start straining her neck up to look at people I went nope. The elf wasn't so bad. The dwarf was too much.
Yes, i dont see whats so unbelievable about that, i dont mean it offensively if thats how it seems. As a man, most feel obligated to be the "protector" and the "nurturer" of their (for the lack of a better word) "lover", but when you're literally being looked down to, it almost seems belittling and undermines the "protector" position that most men perceive themselves in.
I just tough you were joking and I was not sure since you had an image from Aimo with that kinda of thing.
I see your point but that is kinda "old fashion" for the lack of better word. Do you really think height has anything to do with strength or being protective? I just fond this really odd. The only offense, is the lack of equal footing you imply when it comes to women, like they are inferior in some ways.
As for the topic no, although I have a tendency to do tall and average characters, I am going to roll a dwarf this time around.
The noble dwarf is probably my favorite play-through but I have to admit that I avoided playing a dwarf initially because I disliked the large height difference. Especially in cut-scenes because the camera didn't handle it well. Hopefully that will be improved for DA: I.
As for my preference. I'd have romanced Sigrun in awakening if given the option and I'd totally go for a tough hot Qunari woman if such an LI existed so it doesn't matter to me.
Hopefully with all of the development time, we won't have animations where characters are kissing each other's noses and chins.
Height does not affect my race choice at all for either gender.

No, i never meant to imply that women are inferior. Short or Tall, i know women that can easily take on grown men. I didnt mean to imply that "women are inferior" if thats what you got out of it. Im only speaking on the preference men have for not wanting to be looked down upon because they want to feel like the protector/provider, the female may be capable of beating the male 9 times out of ten in reality but as long as that complex of being the "defender" is in their mind, thats what they care about.
Hoping that this makes sense, its a complicated phycological subject that can be talked about for hours

Fair enough that is valid. I guest I just read it from the worse side in the OP.
I still would like to know, how they are going to handle IronBull animations with a dwarfs inquisitor because I really doubt they levitate, like it was on DA:O.
In SerCambria358's defense, I know plenty of girls who date only men taller than them that look strong because it makes them feel safe and protected. And they'd admit themselves it doesn't make any sense since they don't need or want a man to protect them as if they were helpless. Nevertheless, that feeling does effect who they are attracted to.

He probably picks em up? Or kneels I'd guess.
It would be cool if he picks them up like in the that picture of Varric being picked up by a female Qunari.
I actually like taller women myself. Height isn't a big issue to me either. I don't feel I am less of a protector by being shorter than someone I protected. (I did, was just a friend who also happened to been taller than me.) At the same time, I don't mind being protected either. 5' 9" myself.
Height doesn't matter to me, per se, I plan to play all 4 races and my first PT will probably be IB and a dwarf. That said, I've also had my fill of having my taller female characters suddenly shrink to be 6" shorter than their shorter LI when hugging or kissing. If I was obsessed with my male LI being taller than my female PC, I wouldn't chose a taller race to put with that LI. I found my human Warden shrinking to be shorter than Zevran incredibly irritating. If my female qunari suddenly shrinks to 6" shorter than Blackwall, I probably will drop the romance entirely or possibly not finish the qunari PT at all.
According to my oldest daughter, lots of men like taller women...

Nope. That's exactly what I meant.
And yeah, on a WNBA team I could play point or wing. If I were more athletic. And a better shooter, better passer, had better defensive instincts, etc.
Well, you can probably defend better than this guy, and shoot better than this dude, so maybe you have a pretty good shot at being a pro basketball player after all. ![]()
Doesn't affect me. I'm the exact average height for an adult my gender where I live, so playing as short and tall characters is a fun way not to be so darn average. ![]()
I'm a woman who's 5'8 and I've never been able to date someone who's 5 inches shorter or taller than me this translates into the game so even when I do play dwarf those characters never have a romance. I also hate playing as a dwarf because there's no mage class and I can't take them seriously as rouges so that only leaves one class. If it weren't for any of this I'd have no problem playing dwarves they are one of the more interesting races.
