I like playing as dwarves just because of their height/build. I really don't care for the dwarven lore. On the lore front, I vastly prefer the elves over everything else.
See, I'm the opposite... I love dwarven lore and dwarves in general, but I can't play as one... o_O
It does matter and size too. I like mostly playing tall female characters so I'm very happy about qunari. With male characters I don't mind so much.
Are you a guy or girl? Because I suppose girls have it worst when it comes to drunks and belligerents.
I'm a guy, so it's not that bad. I just think I might be somewhat of a drama magnet if someone is looking for a fight.
Female. And yeah I dislike the smell of booze. Too many drunks in my family too many ugh moments. That cheap booze smell that clings to people's clothes makes me wanna vomit.

You ain't alone on that one Icy, very interesting race for sure. I just struggle to play as one, I've tried but I always fail to complete said plays. I will play a qunari quite happily though, being too tall doesn't bug me, being too short does. Yep I'm a heightest.

I like the dwarves, but wish we had dwarven romances as well. In fact, I wish we had a whole dwarven centric story, with a dwarf heavy party (like the Hobbit or something). That goes for the other races too.. maybe if they ever think of making spinoff tales or something.
Height, it doesn't matter at all as long as girl show curves from head to toe... I don't like elves, they are bonney for me, i like Qunaris cause they have nice assets and long legs, but I like also dwarves from DAO: DAA for the same reason.

Height doesn't matter for me if I'm gonna be playing a s/s romance. If I'm gonna play a m/f romance, however, it matters a lot to me. I have a hard time playing m/f romances anyway, but if I'm playing a woman who is shorter/slighter than the male LI, I just feel super duper uncomfortable, especially if it's a female dwarf or female elf and a human male (or in the case of DAI, a qunari male). On the other hand, giving us the options of playing a qunari female makes me feel like I'd have a better chance of completing a m/f romance if I was playing her, since she's bigger than everyone (except IB).

Is Bianca even alive? I was thinking that Harding could help him move on... I mean... it's been more than 10 years since he's seen Bianca, right? That's kind of a long time.

Yeah, I think I need to read the wiki or something to know the full story about Bianca... she's obviously more than just an ex-girlfriend. Maybe pining over somebody for more than 10 years won't seem strange once I know the full story... although to be perfectly honest, I was a lot more comfortable with this concept when I thought he was in mourning over a deceased lover.
But anyway... yeah, it's nice that we have 4 different races to choose from. Since we don't have a height slider, this is the next best thing... everyone play as their ideal Inquisitor(s) for the most part. 
I was never into playing a dwarf because of how short they are. Planning to play as one in Inquisition, though. 
Height does not play a role in my racial selection, although I do tend to choose races that fall on either end of the spectrum. In DA: O, I almost exclusively choose dwarves. In DA: I, I plan to play as dwarves and qunari only. In Skyrim, I pick orcs. In BG, I pick dwarves, gnomes, and half-orcs.
Height never affects my race preference. Could affect my romances sometimes - generally I don't like when a male is shorter than female. But I make exceptions when it fits my character personality - in my last DAO playthrough I romanced Leliana with a male elf, for example.
Well I'm 5ft 2" so the dwarven heights are quite relatable, always having to look up at people is my life. I am looking forward to playing a Qunari female so I can tower above everyone else for once.
But my first playthrough I will be an elf because I like the culture. Humans are just Humans. So no, height doesn't affect which race I play, more about the culture. Preferences Elf -> Qunari -> Dwarf -> Human

You could be tall in Fable 2 though
Not alot, I think you can make a Dwarf that looks authorative, but it does change preferences concerning weapons, such as in DA:O an elf using a two handed weapon looks kinda weird to me.
