See, I'm the opposite... I love dwarven lore and dwarves in general, but I can't play as one... o_O

I'm the same, though I hope I can get past my heightism in this one. I love the dwarven lore and culture in DA. It's so much more interesting than the elves to me.

I'm pretty short irl and I have recently started a female dwarf playthrough in Origins and I'm liking it so far.

The camera can be a little wacky sometimes, but it doesn't bother me too much.

But just because I'm short irl doesn't mean I won't roll a Qunari someday :)

I don't get into my characters enough to feel any masculinity(or whatever) from them. Though I suppose all of that goes right out the window when you romance Cass anyway.. I actually kinda want to play a dwarf for the.... benefits they get in the romance department. So, *shrug* whatevs.

I don't care what so ever. I love playing a mage but when I'm not I always role a Dwarf first. I prefer my mages to be elves and humans sorta bore me. I'm playing a Qunari for DAI first since I'm pretty average for my height but in my circle of friends I'm the short one, so it will be fun to tower over people.

Height to me isn't as much of a factor as how interested I am in the potential backstory/lore.  I've always been more interested in the magical lore, so dwarves are a bit SOL there.

Though as a vicarious living sort of thing, I'm pretty short IRL.  So being able to play a badass qunari lady will be awesome.

Yep, height is an issue for me.  I'm a tall woman irl, and having a LI tower over me bothers me.  I'm glad elves are taller, humans are still tall, and that now I can even be a giant.  It is kind of sad though because I love the culture of the dwarves but I have yet to complete a game as one.  It just feels wrong.

It always gives me a chuckle when a guy says he's uncomfortable dating a woman taller than him. Wow, some gender identities are so fragile

Height doesn't bother me. I'd prefer a short character because I'm tall-ish in real life, but it really doesn't bother me. I'd have played an altmer elf in Skyrim if they didn't look even more alien than the bosmer (which is what I ended up playing). And if elves were super tall in DA I'd still pick elf every time.

I admit I usually roll a character that average height as I am. So usually elves or humans. Rarely do I go for short races unless they are sylph like. The arasai of EQ2 are about the only short race I've played. Never tried a dwarf in DA, though I might in Inquisition at some point.  I also shy away from really tall races, but again in Inquisition I just might be a qunari because they are that badass.

Height doesn't bother me at all, I generally play the races I find most interesting.

I actually have a bit of a soft spot for Dwarves and DAO's Elves because I'm 4ft 11.5" myself.

No doesn't really bother me, I'm pretty short for a guy irl I'm only 5'6" and tbh I prefer women who are taller than me, the one thing that does bother me about the dwarves height is how awkward it looks when you sleep with or kiss your li but it's not a deal breaker.

Was the city elf really that small in DA:O? That was the character I always chose, but I don't remember being noticeably smaller than most of the other characters.

Elves in Origins are noticeably shorter than humans, and slightly taller than dwarves.

Well I was tall enough to kiss Alistair, so that was tall enough for me.

I'd like to be able to play a character in an RPG that's my height and build and not DAO/DAI elf (really not a fan of elves generally, aside from the CEs who are denied to me :()

Don't you think that's a little unfair to say?

I don't think any, since my two top picks of races for the game are dwarves and qunari, and they're on opposite ends of the height spectrum. It does effect my romance choices a bit as a qunari since I like getting the chance to be taller than a guy in a romance for once, so I'll be going after blackwall when I play her.

But that's about it.

IRL I'm average height. When I can I play dwarves and elves.

However, since I really liked female qunari faces in CC stream - it's possible that at some point I will play a goat-woman.

I have no problem with height and it doesn't affect my gameplay. The more diversity the better.. I've dated women taller than me and it didn't take anything away from my masculinity. I am what I am. :)

It is a little unfair, yes. The flip side of that, though, is that height and masculinity are so connected for some people that they slag off tall women as "mannish". Many guys that talk to me feel the need to mention that my height is emasculating to them. It's exasperating for all those people to make the mere fact of my existence into something that makes them feel bad about themselves, and then use that to set the terms of the conversation. If I were trying to start a relationship with any of them, I imagine it'd be infinitely worse.

I mean, guys can feel whatever they want about their masculinity and tall women, but I'd appreciate it if they'd refrain from taking out their wounded freaking feelings on us.

I'm a 5'4" female and I like my height. Except when I am home from college, because my house is literally built for my mother who is 6 foot. Then I need to drag along chairs to reach into anything higher than the second shelf. But I digress. I plan to play as a Qunari, but not so much because I want to be tall--I don't--but because the opportunity to have this tall and intimidating woman be in charge and save the world is simply too good to pass up.

As for height differences with LIs, it doesn't really bother me. Leliana kneeling down to kiss a dwarven lover was actually pretty darn cute. And everyone is going to be shorter than my inquisitor, with the exception of IB. The reason it might not bother me though is that my mother is taller than my father, and all the men she's dated after their separation have also been shorter than her, with the exception of one guy.

But given my father used to be with woman taller than him, perhaps the next time I see him I can force him to play Inquisition and see what race he gravitates toward.

I'm on the tall end of short (5'3). I can't reach things on the top shelf at any store, and I have to get my husband to get things out of the cabinets for me (he's 6'2) :P But my height doesn't really play a role in the characters I create. Magic interests me the most in DA, so I mostly play a mage... so elf and human! I like dwarves just fine, but I can't seem to complete the game with them. The animations and voices irritate me.

As long as I don't have to be a Dwarf...I am fine with Elf, Human or Qunari.

I also hate Hobbitts. But Gnomes are ok!

Doesn't matter to me. If I wasn't a fanatic Dalish player I'd stick romance Dorian with a Qunari or Human..(maybe not dwarf since they can't be mages)
