She's obviously not but it is one of my greatest fears, I don't want a character as Cassandra to be treated as Aveline, after seeing the anime movie, I grew to like her as she is beautiful and very strong. But the screenshots and videos of her in Inquisition I've seen so far shows less and less feminine qualities, a very important aspect in an ony male romance option (IMO). Of course I may be wrong but I guess we'll just have to see until the game comes out. Any thoughts?

Femininity is overrated.

I'll take a character like Aveline over one like Isabela any day of the week.

<-- Straight male.

Ah, I think that Cassandra is hot because she can kick ass with that stern sexy demeanor of hers. I loved Isabela but I always wanted a chance to rommance a tough female warrior so Aveline not being an LI was disappointing. That said, I'm more than happy to take Cassandra. I look forward to the work it will take to get her to show her softer side.

Ahhh damn us poor poor straight men!  Our only male only female romance is not a supermodel!!!  Cry me a river.  She is great and I love the Bioware made a great character like her.

Psssh, Aveline was beautiful. Kinda a stick in the mud but one of the best tanks in the entire francise so far imo. I loved her.

I agree with this.  She was the only character in DA2 that I wanted to romance.  And I could not.  But still loved her and loved her story with Donnic.

Dont mistake her stoic attitude for a lack of femininity. Im hoping/ assuming her lighthearted side will show once she becomes comfortable with you and hopefully even more of that will show once she's romanced

You could romance Josephine instead... she might be more your type since she's a non-combatant.

Yea but thats a 'thing' that they did with the previous 2 games: It was Morrigan in DA O and it was Isabela in DA 2, those two are the prime choice for straight male characters (not saying that the other romance options were bad, I liked leliana more than Morrigan btw)

I suppose what the OP is trying to say is while he like Aveline, we never saw a softer side to her and thats because Aveline was so obsessed with being the perfect guard captain. It was her whole life, there was nothing else to her. No softer side. No hobbies. She obsessed over being guard captain so much she need hawke's help  in getting another man. So yeah, in that regard, I do hope Cassandra has a softer side and some other aspect to her besides being a seeker.

I thought Morrigan had a softer side.

Which is impressive.

Leliana is all about the softer side.

I worry about her in Inquisition having lost it even if she's no longer a romance.

Aveline had a softer side, we just didn't see it very often... remember that story about her father reading her the story book as a child?  And her behavior around Donnic?  I think it was there but just below the surface... Aveline would have had little reason to show this side very often because when she traveled with Hawke it was all business.

Assuming Cassandra has such a side, I would expect it to show up during the romance questline rather than during standard interactions... if she's just friends with the Inquisitor, I expect it to be more similar to Aveline... This is all speculation, of course...

Are you referring to me? If you are then You are very correct! Yea thats What I wanted to say, she doesn't have the romantic appeal that other female romance character had. Gameplay wise, shes a tanky Beast and definetely a good companion

I came into this thread expecting something a little different.....not another....Cassie bash....

I was expecting, would Cassie be like Aveline is for tanking or something gameplay wise.

EDIT:  It was stated, Cassie is a romantic, cant remember where.

Cassandra's Artistic depiction hasn't been attractive thus far and I think Aveline  looks better.  I think it's how they decided to make her look.

cass wins out on sexy voice alone, that puts her in a womanly class way above aveline.

Appearance wise, it looks like either blackwall or the ironbull is going to be the tankiest, Cassandra might a speed type kind of warrior, very agile and all that

I remember seeing her go mushy , when varric tell her about Hawk fighting in single dual against the arishok to get Bela . (at least...that was in my game)......and she looked sooo cute .

Cass has a secret romantic side and has been described as being like a crusty breadstick, hard on the outside and soft on the inside.  I imagine it'll be somewhat like Morrigan and Fenris where you have to get her to warm up to you to see that side of her.  If we're simply talking physical aesthetics, your mileage may vary, I think she's gorgeous.

I agree that Aveline definitely had a softer side, I found her story about her father following Leandra's death to be the most touching of the companion reactions.

I see what you're saying. Yea I hope it's like that as well. Though I do prefer the way she looks in the anime film than the game, something about that hairstyle she had going on at the time.

This pic advertising the movie in particural shows how badass she is (also reminds me of Shingeki no Kyojin, any anime fans here?)
