Aveline was normal and yes awkward at times but she was a vastly superior character to both Isabella and Merrill (IMO) I liked them the same way I like Liara as a Character but not as a LI

Aveline was the Only Sane (Wo)Man of DA2. All of the actual romance options were barking mad in various ways.

Agreed you hit it right on the head there kudos.

Then don't romance her?

Ether romance Josephine or roll a female and romance Sera if she isn't "hot" or "feminine" enough for you.

Or if they don't appeal to you do what I did in DA2 romance no one.

I think the disliking of Cassandra is a little extreme on here I plan on Romancing her first then if she doesnt intrest me its Scrbbles Time. And if she isnt good either it will be just like my Hawke all over again alone and happy.

Isabella was selfish and not the type of woman I'd consider for a relationship but she was sane.

So you like Cassandra because she's a bad ass warrior but your unhappy because she's not a Disney princess in look's,

wrong genre of game's your looking for  a JRPG.

Cassandra looks like a warrior but she's still smexy as hell.

Isabella was beautiful but was a little to over the top for my tastes she was my first Hawkes LI after discovering I would have to pick between Bella and Merrill because Aveline was not an option Isabella is sane but as I said shes to over the top for me.

Cassandra is attractive and I am going to romance her in my first playthrough and I hope her Romance is great then I will give Scribbles a chance and hopefully both are amazing and then if both are not to my tastes I will go the single PC path like I did in my final DA2 playthrough.

I would say Isabella has her fair share of psychological issues due to her upbringing and abusive marriage. She covers her emotional issues behind a cavalier attitude and selfish behaviour, but underneath that she's quite a damaged person (her backstory in the comic reveals this).

Dawn of the Seeker occurs 20 years before Dragon Age Inquisition. In that movie, we see Cassandra as a young woman. Idealistically speaking, she could be 18 years old in DoTS. However, realistically speaking, she would be in her early 20s, probably 23 or 25 years old. Which means that idealistically, she will be 38 years old in DA:I and realistically, she will be 43 - 45 years old in DA:I.

Straight men of all ages usually go for young females ranging from mid 20s to their early 30s. If this is not the case, we would see a lot more cougar marriage and cougar relationships going on. Plus, 45 years old, that's my mother's age. I am not into MILFs, I know there are other straight men that are into MILFs but that just creeps me off.

All in all, Cassandra is a old butch female with more sword than sense. I prefer intelligent and ladylike women and Cassandra is neither one of those.

So its either Josephine Montilyet or no romance for me.

Wait where did you read that Dawn of the Seeker was set 20 years before?

It was ten years before DA2, and DA2 was ten years before DA:I. I think... ;)

Don't you know the rule of armour in fantasy games? For female armours, less coverage means higher protection due to stronger enchantment been put on the armour, so you don't need to cover as many areas. Less is better... :P

That explains it :D

Apparently this is a bad thing in games but okay in movies like 300 rise of an empire or spartacus.

DotS took place in 9:22 (Ref: http://dragonage.wik...n_of_the_Seeker). The most recent story events (Asunder and The Masked Empire) occurred in 9:40, so even if DAI begins in 9:41 (does anyone know for sure when it begins?) that's at least 19 years since DotS, so the 20 years figure is pretty accurate given we don't have the exact months events took place in.

Didn't you know ? We males have the POWAH OF PATRIARCHAL PRIVILEGE ! It protects us from all damage ! Tis' truly an almighty power to have.

Women on the other hand cannot wear these types of armor...Because evil menz ! Because they are being strong and independent. Or whatever nonsense reason you can come up with.

The fact that this is the fantastical, that fantasy is the exploration, the musings, the dreams of the human mind and its just thoughts essentially. So I have no problems with fantasizing about women in sexy armors any more than I have problem with women fantasizing about muscled, sweaty dudes with no upper torso armor.

Games are primarily entertainment after all. It is a medium where we can express our fantasies. This is true equality. To say that you cannot have this or that is to force censorship of the fantastical, the censorship of thoughts on people. People who do this are the equivalent of Orwellian Thought Police.

But then again...privilege you know...

So go with Josie.  She seems to be the more classically beautiful and demure type, if you're more inclined to that sort.  The game can't give everyone what they want on an individual level.  Myself, I wanted Solas, who happens to be early-to-mid forties in age, at least five to ten years older than my Inquisitor would be.  But he's off-limits to my male elf, and that's just how it is.

Though sometimes I think Cass is wasted on the "straight male" demographic.  -_-

I thought Cass looks awesome, very sharp with strong features, and y'know, super lean with short hair because warrior.
[read: evil seeking dragon slaying badass of twenty plus years]

She has a tough shell, bit of a hardass, short temper etc., but come on, this is a person who has li'll baby hearts on her armour. There's a gooey doe-eyed romantic under there somewhere. "It will become my mission in life to find it." ~ Inquisitor.

I see what you're saying. Yea I hope it's like that as well. Though I do prefer the way she looks in the anime film than the game, something about that hairstyle she had going on at the time.

This pic advertising the movie in particural shows how badass she is (also reminds me of Shingeki no Kyojin, any anime fans here?)

I imagine she'd give Mikasa a run for the title of most badass chick of the series.  ;)

Come to think of it, they're probably not that different from each other personality wise either.

Femininity is overrated.

I'll take a character like Aveline over one like Isabela any day of the week.

<-- Straight male.

Can I get an AMEN? Finally a manly woman who is not gay. Praise Jeebus!

She is, but since I plan on doing two female runs first, Cassie has to wait.  She is on my list.  :D   If she was bi, she would be competing along with Josie and Sera with my first play.  ;)

Oh, I can assure you that many people here would enjoy seeing Mikasa and Cassandra "duke it out" if you know what I mean.

How about you wait until you get a chance to know this character, before you judge her. I take Cassandra or Aveline over women like Isabela any day.
