Well I'm feeling a bit bored so I thought I might ask what guys thought "fits" each origin, just for the heck of it.

What I mean by what "fits", I mean what personality and decisions make the most sense for each origin based on their background and other variables.

So what do ya think?

P.S. This is completely your own opinion; not a be all, end all statement on how people "should" play the game.

Hmm... For personality, my dwarf noble was a cocky, rough and tumble, yet pragmatic when he needed to be, and he didn't really give a damn about the humans and elves.  Sided with Harrowmont during Orzammar, sided with Caridin, had Zathrian end the curse in the Brecilian Forest, saved the mages in the Circle, sent Wynne into the Fade to fight the desire demon that possessed Connor, double-crossed Kolgrim and preserved the Ashes, killing him afterwards, and convinced Eamon to send Jowan to the Circle.  Made hardened Alistair marry Anora and did the DR with Morrigan.  As for the companions, hardened Leliana, lied to Morrigan, found Aneirin, killed Taliesen, gave Goldanna 15 sovereigns, found Sten's sword, helped Oghren patch things up with Felsi, and no romance.  Didn't have any of the DLCs for DA:O at the time.  In Awakening: fully upgraded Vigil's Keep, recruited everyone, saved Vigil's Keep, didn't kill the Architect, Nathaniel stayed, Anders 'stayed', Velanna left, Justice 'stayed', Oghren stayed, Sigrun stayed.  Class: Berserker/Champion/Guardian S&S warrior (I know, I'm so unique).

(ok, you know what?  I'm just going to stick with personalities from here on out because that's my canon playthrough and most of my playthroughs are pretty similar when it comes to the major choices)

My dwarf commoner was a bit snarky and somewhat cynical.  She was also a bit more pragmatic than my dwarf noble, but she was very protective of Rica, and thus sided with Bhelen in Orzammar.  Again, no romance.  Class: Duelist/Assassin/Legionnaire Scout dual-wield rogue.

My first Dalish elf- which was also my first playthrough- was more diplomatic and pragmatic while still being fairly helpful.  tbh, I'm not entirely sure how to continue describing his personality.  Romance: Leliana.  Class: Duelist/Shadow/Legionnaire Scout dual-wield rogue.

My first elf mage was mildly snarky, diplomatic, a little naive, and had an 'anything goes' mentality when it came to fighting.  Romance: Alistair.  Class: Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage/Battlemage archer mage with S&S back-up.

My first city elf (shown in my profile pic) was mostly serious, hated humans and the Chantry with a passion, and was very pragmatic.  He was very tactical and he was also very protective of his fellow elves and quickly became friends with Shale, Sten, Oghren, Velanna, and Zevran.  He eventually started to trust Alistair as a comrade-in-arms, but I don't think I'd consider them to be friends, exactly.  He could be snarky at times, though it was very rare.  No romance.  Class: Berserker/Reaver/Spirit Warrior 2-hander warrior.

My human mage was fairly naive, not exactly a fan of fighting, and she was pretty pro-Circle, unlike my first elf mage.  Meh, not much else to say about her.  Romance: Leliana.  Class: Spirit Healer/Shapeshifter/Keeper mage.

My current human noble (not going to count my first Cousland because I deleted him) is fairly snarky, diplomatic, pragmatic.  Still fleshing out the details on her, tbh.  Romance: Alistair.  Class: Bard/Assassin/Shadow archer rogue.

My current Dalish elf is somewhat snarky, mostly diplomatic, doesn't exactly trust humans, and is a bit of an idealist.  Romanced Zevran with her because they had both lost someone they loved (Tamlen for my Dalish) and were both kind of numbed emotionally because of that.  Class: Ranger/Duelist/Shadow archer rogue.

My current elf mage is somewhat snarky, self-confident, pragmatic, a little arrogant, and pretty anti-Circle and anti-Chantry.  Again, I'm still fleshing out the details.  Romance: Morrigan (if my PS3 finally lets me complete a playthrough where I romance her).  Class: Arcane Warrior/Shapeshifter/Battlemage S&S or 2-hander mage  (still trying to figure out which one I want to go with).

My current city elf is very snarky, proud, somewhat cocky, diplomatic, and a bit rough and tumble.  Yet again, I'm still fleshing out the details.  Romance: Alistair.  Class: Berserker/Reaver(or Champion)/Guardian dual-wield warrior.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, I know that they're not very detailed, but it's late for me and I'm not in the mood to flesh out all of them with their backstories atm.  Maybe I'll come back later and add more details, but no guarantees.

My preferred way to play a Dalish character, and my canon Warden, is as a character who is a bit of a closed-off, soft-spoken person who's blunt and seemingly cold in her outward demeanor, (which would explain why the Warden only seems to ever speak 1-2 short sentences at a time...) but at their core a good-hearted person who is a bit of an oddball among the Dalish for caring about the welfare of City Elves, and even humans if the individual in question proves themselves worthy of kindness - though that took some getting used to. The cold, closed off attitude could probably be attributed not only to the fact that she's being forced into a world she knows little of, but also for the loss of Tamlen, her long-time friend and partner, and the knowledge she probably won't ever see her family again - and the fact that she prodded Ashalle to drop the bombshell of her true parentage hours before she was forced to leave. Being a little bit harrowed makes sense.

I eventually made her open up a bit to her companions further on, as she grew to trust them and regard them as her new family, and moving on from the old one while still holding them close at heart. The Witch Hunt DLC was a good opportunity for a Dalish character to actually go back to their roots a bit and act 'elf-ey' again.

As for choices, obviously takes the side of elves whenever possible, and also mages, as a Dalish elf was essentially raised by them and probably wouldn't see them as a threat to be purged, and often adheres to what she thinks is morally good, but with little regard for the law because those are shemlen laws, not her laws. But, mostly the charitable choices.

Done a few runs of similar characters, but that's the jist of the one I've settled on. :S

I've always liked playing the spoiled brat with a heart of gold for the Human and Dwarf Noble origins.

I played my Cousland warden as a sharp-tongued womanizing scoundrel rather than the noble, splitting image of his father, and it was probably my favourite playthrough. I like the privileged brat with not a care in the world maturing to be the savior of everyone.  B)

I've only played through origins twice, but I'm planning out the rest of my playthroughs.

My Cousland was very diplomatic and political, always trying to go for balance and reach the middle ground. This worked against her in Orzammar though, when she realized that there could only be one king and that she couldn't just play the both of them, nor could she escape the fanatical merceneries from both sides. She prefered to talk her way through problems, and believed that not every problem needs to be solved with a sword. Cousland was my first playthrough, so I might make another one in the future, now that I know more what kind of choices I can make.

My City elf, while choosing similar main choices, went about her problems in a different way, being more rough and direct in her approach as opposed to my more silver tongued and persuasive noble. She utilized threats and refused to back down from a fight, often being the one to instigate them herself. Due to the traumatic events of the wedding, she had very little trust of humans, especially human males, and was rather anti-chantry. Morrigan was her absolute best friend, and if she was able to romance Morrigan, she so would have.

My mages are going to be polar opposites. I plan on having Surana be a goody two shoes merciful defender of the down-trodden and the like. My Amell is going to be the complete opposite. Being free from the mage's tower gets to his head. Amell plays by no rules other than his own, and only does things if there's any good in it for him. Essentially, he's going to run Ferelden through the ground in order to save it.

Brosca and Aeducan are going to have different demeanors and personalties as well. Brosca is definitely going to be more pragmatic, more "the ends justify the means." I'm still giving my dwarves some more thought, same with my Dalish.

My Dalish female was a sweet sad elf.

My Dwarf noble was a spoiled ******.

Dwarf commoner was a tough goodhearted girl

City elf was sweet and scrappy.

Fem Cousland was wise, sweet and tough as nails :D

All my mages were smart and kind.

i don't like to play a mean person, and only went down that road to get achievements.
