I'm not sure I understand the relevence of what he's saying to this comment. He's just talking about how when people preach for equality, they want their faction to be favored instead of all factions to be favored equally and he is right.

Except you know one game favoring the other side of the population for once isn't inequality towards males at all.

In fact if 1/3 of the industry each decided to cater exclusively to women and gays that would be equality.

So naturally when straights complained about being "screwed" or "ignored" by Bioware in light of how biased the industry is towards them the real historically ignored/screwed groups mocked them for it.

lmao, no!  I'll just be too busy playing the game to be on here reading these threads.

Ah, okay.

Well, technically it is the second Dragon Age game in a row to favor female characters. DA2 had 5 options for women and 4 for men.

I remember when Bioware used to be about RPGs...

As a straight, white male I really don't care about this issue and I wish it wouldn't dominate the forums so much. It could drown out other issues with the game.

Most gamers just want a good game but Social Justice Warriors only want to shove their agenda down everyone's throat.

Maybe if a small portion of the straight male demographic didn't throw a tantrum at the romance announcement, claming they should have as much proportial romances as they did in others games and going as far as insulting the romances they have...then maybe these people wouldn't have been greeted with "serves you right" remarks.

I seem to recall that there were more homosexual players 'throwing tantrums' than heterosexual male players with the romance announcement.

I haven't seen gay players constantly making threads after threads on THE SAME DAMN TOPIC over and over again.

I get the initial reaction, from all sides, but Jesus, stop beating that dead horse into glue.

Do you have examples of tantrums? Almost everything I saw shows how people are trolling and making fun of SJW about romance "inequality". Gloating and greeting with serves you right rhetorics just shows immaturity.

I'm just saying, preaching for equality should go through all ways, not just the underrepresented one, I personally think it's largely achieved in DA:I with the equal options for every sexual orientation opportunity now just give me my marriage option and I'll be as happy as a dog's tail. And again he isn't complaining about romance options, he's complaining about people's flawed logic when it comes to equality.

I think it was Pateu that started it on the official thread and got flack from every group and some 2-3 others that wanted Viv and said that it was ok to add one more smale romance cause people have gotten used to it.

So depends on the definition of small. I guess if one does it, every smale is a pig and deserved what he got :P

I'll be avoiding them like the plague due to inevitable spoilers.

Especially since it'll take me forever to go through DA:I... *grumbles* Stupid work...

Be careful. You don't want to "disrespect the LGBT community" by asking for that.  -_-

I like where this thread is going... Man, I am so glad that Bioware decided to have the romance option as is. High drama on BSN everyday of the week.

There can NEVER be equality between these groups. We can only work towards something called "equivalence". I always use this example to demonstrate this.  Men and women can NOT ever be equal by they very nature of the biological function in nature, If there wasn't a difference between us, we would all be called the same thing not men AND women. We have babies, men don't, By that qualifier alone there can't be equality as we have different functions. Therefore, we need to work for equivalence ( "alike" as opposed to same). Women and men need to have "alike" rights and options and not the "same". Let's go back to the baby thing. Women need and should have maternity leave in the workplace for when they have a baby. Men need to have the same types of protections in the work place if they want it. Obviously they don't need the time off to have a baby but they need it to spend time with their baby and all of that. Its not an "equal" scenario but its an equivalent (like) situation. It's late and this isn't as concise as it should be. But the gist is we all need to stop demanding "equality" which will only short change all parties. We need to accept there are REAL differences that can't be ignored just because of political correctness.

Which would've happened regardless of what they did.

Even if they made them all "player-sexual" again there would've been cries of outrage.

Knowing BSN, I think there is merit in what you are saying. If Bioware made all companions 'all player-sexual with equal number', there would be people asking why they couldn't romance 'a piece of rock' right? Lol.

"They" are the upset homosexuals you said didn't exist. If you want to claim they don't count since their outbursts happened outside the BSN, that's your prerogative.

It isn't, my prerogative is limited to the BSN, I don't care what the shitholes like tumblr or 4chan have to say on the matter.
