I had a motion sickness as a child, but not as an adult but every time I tried to play "Thief" or "Deus Ex" after 15-20 minutes I usually started to feel dizzy, had a headache and nausea. I've heard a lot about Skyrim and wanted to see some gameplay, so I went to Youtube. Started to watch a video, full screen, FPP. After 10 minutes a headache begun, then a little nausea, even when I minimized window. I just couldn't watch this.

Someone metioned AC. My fear of heights kicks in every time I had to climb a very tall tower or climb on the very top of a tower... Just don't look down

I get motion sickness from playing pretty much any game. I usually just use gravol to help but if you don't want to take that.

You can try using those motion/sea sickness wrist bands they sell at pharmacy's. I find they help a lot I use to have one (I lost it)

The only game in the history of games that made me motion sick was Half-Life 2. I'd never gotten motion sick before, so it caught me completely off guard. I haven't been motion sick since, or from any other game. And I play a ton (seriously, a lot) of games. It's just that one game.

Anyway, I hope this game doesn't make you nauseous.

2 main things that causes motion sickness.  Narrow FOV and LCD monitor with high latency.  That's why I usually play fast FPS on my CRT.  Yeah, I still have my 19" CRT.  The game that really kill me is Minecraft.  The stupid constant jumping/bobbing is what really kill it for me so never play on an empty stomach or when you're tired.  The migraine knock me out for a week.  Everytime I see that game I just want to throw up.

Interesting. From what I'm reading in this thread, looks like I have just a little bit of motion sickness--sometimes when I'm playing a game it feels too close and I have to sit back from my monitor to get visual space outside of the game.

That's never really happened to me in AC, but it definitely did in Far Cry 3 with the radio towers.

Sorry for the necro... but does anyone have any good solutions for this?

I had nearly no problems with DA:O or DA2.  But I can't play DA:I for more than 30min without starting to feel dizzy.

I have a top-shelf PC, use a gtx970, I have an ASUS monitor that is pretty bright (and can be adjusted in a variety of ways).  I've lowered camera speed.  Played in windowed mode.  etc... still no dice.

Any tips?  I am at the point where I'm not going to play anymore - which is too bad because I was really enjoying the game - aside from the pain and discomfort. :P

Mild motion sickness can usually be overcome with setting a wider POV but DA:I does not allow this.

Try to zoom further out and play with a 45 degree top down view. May help.

There is a "hack" to zoom out further.  But that hasn't helped me much.  The 45 degree top-down might help.  I'll give it a try.

Very sorry to hear that! Turned out, after very minor adjustments I was able to play. For me it was camera speed - yes and mouse smoothness. My settings look like this:

Spoiler

And I can play for hours without any inconvenience. Try to adjust camera and mouse speed - this should be the key. And stay away from multilayer, afaik, camera there is impossible for people like us.

I do have slight motion sickness while playing DAi. (I had slight motionsickness in Skyrim too and in most of the first person shooters its very bad)

I can minimize motions sickeness in DAI by using tactical combat in most fights.

My settings are similar.  Smoothing all the way, sensitivity and camera speed low.  no auto-center so that I can control the camera movement myself.  It is also possible that I have a worse case of simulator sickeness than others.  I've had this problem forever.  Strangely, DA:O and DA2,... I was able to get it so I wouldn't have too much of a problem.  Anyhow, I'll give it another shot tonight.
