I've played and beat Dragon Age Origins three times now and currently on my forth play through.
Who annoys me?

1) Arl Howe = His voice has always annoyed me. Reminds me of that rat man from Harry Potter. Liked him even less after playing the Human Noble Origin. I always enjoy killing him, though I have to say, the voice actor did a good job with him. I love his last line before his death, "I deserved more!" Brilliantly delivered.

2) Anora = Cannot stand her. I have chosen Alistair to be King every play through and always will because she is not only annoying but a pig-headed cow, that is terribly self-absorbed. I wish there was an option to kill her.

3) Morrigan has a good voice actor, but I cannot stand the character's personality and I HATE how I have to do her stupid ritual in order to get a "happy" ending with Alistair and female warden. So dumb! She's a manipulative cow.

Yea Tim Curry (Arl Howe) is an excellent voice actor.  He has such a wide diversity of roles from independant films, kids films, etc etc, and all of that has made him an excellent actor I think.  One of my favorite performances of him is in the independant film Attila.

Isolde. There's no one else who comes close. As a final slap, she's registered in my Awakening codex as the hero who sacrificed herself to save Connor. Well, bite me, Codex!!! *I* saved Connor, and in my male pc's run through, Jowan did. That sneaky wench rewrote my diary!

Probably Wynne or Leliana. Wynne is definately more obnoxious-annoying but Leliana also has her moments and I am sick of her as she is the only decent lockpicking npc so she gets used a lot more.

I've wondered if men tend to find Wynne more annoying than women. I actually kind of liked her when playing my mage - she was funny teasing Alistair, and funny with Zevran. But when I played my 2 male characters, I wanted to punch her. (and I'm female myself...) My son loathed her from the beginning.



I liked Leliana as a friend for my mage - I didn't care for her as a romance option for my men. She seemed too girlish & cute. Her voice antagonized me more than anything, & I didn't like the way she made her assassin-past seem somehow adorable & sexy. Zevran was more authentic about his.

Wynne was annoying and she seemed to kill herself every battle. Leliana annoying as well.

Anora most annoying NPC.

-Wynne hands down (and I'm a female) I was so happy to find a kindred spirit in Ines in Awakenings.  Her line "Oh...little miss 'high and mighty got the fade comin' out of me bum' Wynne?" was priceless.  I reloaded twice just to hear her say it again.

-Gorim - "DWARVEN CRAFTS!  FINE DWARVEN CRAFTS" zomg...I deliberately avoid going anywhere NEAR him to trigger that banter in Denerim and when I accidently venture too close /facepalm

- Isolde - I just wanna smack that selfish little spoiled Orlesian wench.

-Leliana's nug - I should have let Oghren BBQ it over the camp fire when I had the chance.

-Velanna - I know she's probably a "more realistic" Dalish, but honestly - the girl needs some anger management classes...SHUT UP ALREADY - it's even too much for my DE, and she doesn't care much for shems either, but you don't hear HER complaining all the time.

Ha! I've heard it as 'dwarven crap' every time. I have to admit, though, I'm really fond of him for that reason.



I don't know how I'd feel about Velanna if she had a nicer voice, but god! She sounds like such a shrew! I also liked Ines's line about Wynne nagging Uldred into going mad. All too believable!

Gheyna, Cammen, Nesiara/Nes-whatever, Isolde, any annoying little kid (one in Lothering plus Connor plus any I forgot), Oghren, that one woman in the Denerim market who keeps yelling at the nearby elves and won't shut up, Dagna, Sandal, Isabella, Irving, and the dwarf merchant who repeatedly ambushes you. 

I may be somewhat easily annoyed. <_<

Velanna, her pre-existing prejudice against humans and plain nastiness led her to slaughter innocent humans and join with the darkspawn. She didn't think to ask questions or think about why the darkspawn would be so helpful. I tried to attack her in the end but she dissapeared.

The female elven leader in the Alienage, she was so rude to my human male who tried to help her, and only gave grudging compliments after I saved all their a**es.

Oh! I forgot one! The nasty red haired elf in the Alienage - the very definition of 'hag.' The one who says you're spoiled because your arranged marriage is better than hers. Yes - you can say, "Oh, I get it. You're insane.' I take that option, unless I'm trying to Nice her to death. Miserable old shrew!



And as for Awakening, I tried my hardest to like Velanna. She ended up on the first team I used to beat The Mum. I never liked her. She's a harpy, & unlike Morrigan, she's never charming. At least, I didn't think so.



I really, really hated that (insert forbidden words here) wife of the Warden you find in the Mines - who is cheating on him and blames HIM. (she's upstairs with her dimwit boyfriend in the inn) I wanted to slap her or insult her, but you don't get that option. She takes the 'poor me' to a level where I can only imagine attacking.

What is amazing is how much I loved this game with all of the annoying characters in it - I guess I liked being able to antagonize them (ie to the Crazy Mage - "Don't hate me because I'm beutiful")

Isolde for me is hands down the worst. The way she greets Alistair with such contempt when he's there to help has always irked me. On top of that she is whiny and worthless. If I didn't generally play as good natured characters I'd let Jowan sacrifice her in a heartbeat.

Jowan is a close second. He's such a miserable excuse for a human-being. Having played through the mage origin just makes me hate him that much more. Additionally who ever did the voice acting for him shouldn't be allowed to talk ever. Never mind be actually paid to do so. I'm sorry but even the minor npcs he does the voice for somehow end up being annoyingly whiny without trying.

Beyond that...

Dagna for her whiny voice.

Wynne for her long winded speeches about virtually nothing. She's almost as bad as Sten for circle jerk conversations. If it wasn't for her interactions with Alistair she would be a permanent camp only companion.

Zathrien for what he did to his own people and not being able to see beyond his own resentment. Though honestly more than that for making me go through endless dialogue about his resentment with him and then with the Lady. I wanted to stab a dagger in his eye and just end it.

Cullen for having the audacity to waste my time before I slice Uldred in to a zillion little pieces.

As for Awakening...

Oghren would be my hands down worst for Awakening. In Origins I could at least choose to not use him for a majority of the content. I felt obligated to use him in Awakenings since he's your Alistair equivalent main plot companion. It seems like the devs actually somehow made him more annoying and obnoxious in Awakening than Origins. Go team.

I couldn't stand Mhairi's voice and I was actually hoping she would die sometime during the introduction phase.

Velanna was annoying too. After I got past her introduction quest she got to stand at the keep for the remainder of the game. I failed to properly rebuild my keep and I actually laughed out loud when I read she died in battle on the codex.

I can't imagine any character more annoying than Jowan.  At least Isolde has an accent going for her.  Jowan is just such an impotent, helpless little puke.  I have never been able to feel sorry for him.

That said, Velanna and her messed up face make me cringe.

And Oghren... being forced to use a worthless 2H'er just doesn't sit well with me.

Sten gets kind of annoying too, especially when he confronts me in camp.

Loghain- Everytime that selfrightous ass talks i wana put him in a middle of a inferno and bake him to a fine crisp then hit him with a mace over and over i hate him so much his blind lust for the throne killed duncan and calin  to. I love killing him beat  the game 15times seeing the look on anora's stunned face never gets old as i smile and celebrate his death. But he is a good villan.

Branka- i dont know why but her nose bugs the hell out of me everytime i see her i wana jump at my TV and stab her myself god shes annoying.

Arl Howe-Biggest brown noser in the history for ferelden! i mean serously his ass kissing knows litterly holds no bounds, and when you kill him "I....Deserved.....more...." im like "WOW" i hate you more then the word can describe.

Kolgrim- Another crazy religous freak and i hate religous freaks hes begging for a coffin in a unmarked grave.

Arl of Denerim- Rapes Elven maidens and takes his new role as Arl and is a complete tyrant.

Ending BroodMother- On awakening she is the most annoying boss shes ugly to the extreme, and her voice is like nails on a chalk board on my ears.

I've taken sten out cause i've come to like him after i got his sword.

From awakening I really didn't care for Velanna either. Condesending much? To mae it worse, the entire time she and anders were in my group I'd have the same dialogue on repeat between these two:



Anders: Have I ever told you that I find tattoos on women incredibly attractive?

Velanna: Have I ever told you that I find most humans physically and morally repulsive?
