One thing that killed me slowly in DA2 was not having anything like Sebastian's royal archer armour, I know it was his unique look and all. I do plan to plays as a Trevelyan rogue archer and think it would go great with the "Noble's child" character type I plan to use. I hope we can craft armour into looking like royalty armour.

We get to craft our own armor this time around and I have no doubts that we can make it as fancy as our hearts desire. Gold leaf, fur trim, and all that royal stuff should definitely be available, but my guess is it may cost quite a bit so it will be up to you if you really want to dedicate that much money towards your personal armor. I may be wrong and it will cost no more than any other armor, but we shall see.

I'm one of those people where if I fall in lovewith the look of an armour set I'll wear it to my deathbed, no matter how the stats fall.
