lawl.
"Firing squad get in position."
I can't get over the cured taint. I can't. I think I'd be able to deal with everything but that.
How about this instead for me?

Wise!
Sadly with the advent of qunari my elven playthrough has been bumped to third. Still I can't wait to do a run, I love the dalish lore and it'll be great to do a run from their perspective.
At least 2 runs probably since I also plan to do every romance at least once and the race gating. Probably more as time goes on. I do a lot of runs.
I do wonder about that tree. One that size takes a long time to grow and is it a certain type of tree like Keeper staffs?
As the dalish are indifferent is the tree something the CE started when they were forced into alienages or is it a lower class Dales tradition so the dalish are ignorant because the clans are made up of the upper classes? (How did a class structure even come about in the Dales?)
The vhenadahl is a symbol of Arlathan for the Alienages, and apparently, many Alienages let their trees wither and die (according to hahren Sarethia of the Highever Alienage). The Dalish do plant a tree over someone who has died and been buried, so trees do seem to have significance for the elves.
The Dalish are made up of nobles and non-nobles from the fall of the Dales; it was an oligarchy system when it was an independent kingdom, but it isn't explained how it came about.
tbh, I'm not sure where this thread is going now.
Hmm... alright, who is your favorite elf in the DA universe (Wardens and Inquisitors excluded)?
Mine is... hmm... Lanaya, I think. Maybe Marethari. Hmm... might need to think on it more, tbh.
Shianni.

I think I really would have liked Fiona if I didn't know about the 'cured of the taint and btw she's alistairs mom stuff'.
My favorite elf?
Fenris!
Then Zathrian.
Shianni is no. 3#. I'd love for her to be an NPC love interest but, uh, can understand why she isn't.

Anyway Mine's is Fenris. Easily :3

I was wondering what was with all teh hate but I read that I'm like "wat."
After an entire game of "lol you can't avoid the taint. You're doomed deal with it." this ****** gets a get out of taint free card? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Fenris. Lanaya is pretty cool, too. Also, Aneirin was a pleasure to meet. I also like my City Origin cousins.

Judging from the dalish clans a council of elders perhaps?
It sad but understandable some let their tree die.

Same. I would have rolled my eyes at either but both was just too much.

Ask the Architect real nice. Maybe he figured it out.

Eh, I just asked Avernus.
He helped my Warden.
:-)
Favorite elf?
Fel'Assan
I hope we get a 'dalish mage robe' this time. There was always something weird about watching dalish NPCs strut around in tevinter-style robes.

If we can decorate our keep in Dalishy standards maybe we can get merchants who sell dalishy themed items?

Indeed. Gets the miracle plenty of wardens could only wish for and that somehow isn't special enough. She must have moar!
Ask the Architect real nice. Maybe he figured it out.
It was an accident apparently so that's a no go.

At the risk of sounding like an ass, how would the dalish decorate a permanent structure?

And it should have a bear skin draped over our character's head.
Cause...nature, and stuff.

Hence me saying 'maybe he figured it out'.

Much nature. So just wood and leaves everywhere.

The Architect probably could cure the Taint quite easily but you'd have to explain yourself VERY CAREFULLY because it doesn't understand things human beings take for granted like, "not dying being optimal" and "not dying also including free will, not being hideously deformed, and not blood-crazed or cannibalistic." The very idea you'd want to be cured of the Taint would strike it as very baroque probably.
