we have never had a three way choice in Dragon Age or Mass Effect
Don't see any reason they shouldn't start now. Better than slapping pro-elven characters in the face.

because it'd be too much to handle with diverging storylines?
They can barely handle the two choices we usually get well
good now lets all play nice.@monkey: Sorry... *grabs an elf, hugs him, pets his head* Nice elf, sweat elf..
Anyway, I don't see it as likely that it'll be Gaspard and Celene or Briala.
I see it likely it'll be two separate choices.
1. Gaspard or Celene
2. Help Briala rebel against Orlais or work against her
not so much a sin more of like MT, politics threads people like to bash others or bash a different culture they find to be inferiorI made this thread for nice discussions.Maybe I made a mistake...I didn't know making a thread about Elves was a sin around here

Briala rebelling against Orlais is incompatible with keeping Celene in power or putting Gaspard on the throne
they'd never be allowed to let an elven uprising continue

Depends on the circumstances.
But yes, I imagine any epilogue will be about how the Emperor/ess proceeds to try and destroy any new Elven State.

Gaspard or Celene probably wouldn't make for much of a difference until the endings. Take Imperials and Stormcloaks in Skyrim, they were essentially the same quests with some different dialogues and different colours.
Then you have the elven route.
Boom.
It's not like this is the main plot of the game anyway, that's going to completely alter the course of the story. In all likelihood it's going to be an Orzammar's king style sideplot at best.
I like elves... that serve Tevinter willingly or not.
On the subject of Briala I support her head adorning my throne.

I have no idea of knowing how it would work but I imagine it'd be the slide endings.
"Gaspard or Celene Slide"
Then if you help Briala, "Briala Slide."
But yes, even if I help the elves, I predict that their lives will continue to suck.

if the Celene/Gaspard threads are as cut and paste as the Civil War in Skyrim, it will be sorely disappointing.
I love Skyrim to death, but it doesn't do characters or politics well.
An Orzammar situation is exactly what I predict, and instead of finding Branka, we end Briala

Well, that would suck as I'd return the game then.
I can't get into a fantasy about putting down fantasy Jews.
and I normally love killing elves!
Just not Dragon Age ones.
Can you feel it in the air OP? It is already beginning.
I'd take a Skyrim-esque civil war over being railroaded into doing something plenty of my Inquisitors wouldn't do.
@Willowhugger: The elves are so not fantasy Jews.
The most glaring difference? Jews - no matter how many times the world kicks them - seem to always pick themselves up and prosper as a people.
They most certainly do not: "excel at poverty" despite so much adversity.
The elves are in love with being victims.
Wasn't going to frequent this thread as I largely dislike DA elves (well, the Dalish) but I feel a bit strong about this comparison.

I can't really imagine any scenario where the PCs are expected to kill the oppressed minority rebelling against racists.
That would require a staggering blindness of ME3 proportions.
And they had playtesters this time.

BioWare has always railroaded our main characters

Eh, Sten was just being a racist.
He's also sexist too.
And wrong.
City Elves are the best ElvesTM.
Watch the Elven Bride MeatGrinderTM and you'll see she's a Jewish girl.
Badass Warrior Race they are.
Tolkien said so to the Nazis.

You just wait until the Dalish brigade comes then this thread will explode!
@Willowhugger: What if that group is directly opposing you closing the Breaches?
What if using the Eluvians is the cause of the Veil tears?
What if we find that using these things is why the original elven empire fell?
Not likely - but there ARE reasons outside of malicious slaughter to not support the rebelling elves. (to me at least)
