and mage to boot whoo boy foreworks right?Don't you just love how quick that Quartermaster was to spit his foot out of his mouth when he realized you were a Grey Warden, though? I hope by being a Dalish Inquisitor we can invoke similar reactions in people.

Yep. And then in Awakening, I thought back to that Quartermaster when nobles were swearing fealty. Oddly satisfying. :S

In DA:O, I generally preferred being an elven mage to a non-mage, because then the humans made less "damn knife-ears," comments and more "please don't hurt me, sir mage," comments. ![]()
I get the feeling that racism will show up in DA:I but it'll be fairly minor since the 3 non-human races were added after the fact. The vast majority of the time we'll be known as "Inquisitor," regardless of race, which is fine by me.

I think the devs mentioned that race will play a large role in how people react to your Inquisitor.

lol... thanks for the heads up. If I start bracing myself right now, I should be fine by the time the game is released.

Yep, they even said certain outcomes will be downright more difficult to achieve for certain races.
I guess we'll see just how true that is shortly.

Who wouldn't want to be pretty?

My Mahariel Warden was a bit more moderate, but I think my second Inquisitor is going to be the complete opposite. :S

i can just imagine them being all
*Adopts stearotypical french accent*
Noble: a knife-ear*spits on the inq's boot*
Inq: apologize... now... please
*Noble spits in his face*
Inq: good talk i accept your apology* walks away from noble that is in his small clothes covered in bruises
I think the most fitting thing to do with the Inquisitor authority in this situation would be to get this noble to literally lick the Inquisitor's boots and return his spittle to the mouth it came from. And make the chopping block the alternative. ![]()

Nobles are about the last people the inquisition would want to ****** off.
They're so fun to piss off, though.

Or the first people you'd want to put on a tight leash while they still need you to get rid of the demons.
Go ahead, spit on the boot of Andraste reborn. Nobody will miss a heretic, and the Inquisition will certainly appreciate free land and goods.

The Inquisitor kind of has the advantage of being the only person who can close veil tears. Any noble stupid enough to turn on them because one of their racist members got put in their place isn't someone I'd want anyway.
And what the baconer said too.

Haven't the devs said that the Inquisition doesn't have much power right off the bat and that it will be kinda hard for certain races to get things done. I think you're gonna need nobles I mean there always has to be somebody to fund the war.

That doesn't mean Bioware can't give Player Characters enough rope to hang themselves with.

Didn't Patrick Weekes tweet that he went Dalish on some nobles in his previous playthrough? Apparently it can be done.

Of course, at first you gotta play nice, build up your resources and your rep... Get your foot in the door, so to speak.
And then by the time you're ready to go full-on robber baron, they'll learn it's much safer - both for their health and for the repute of their house - to simply accommodate the demands of their messiah.
