I still firmly believe that DA2 elves only looked like they did because Varric thought it would be funny to make all the elves in his story look like David Bowie. 

 

But the elves didn't look sexy.

 

There's no way they could be David Bowie.

Love is overrated. I once thought as you did. Long story short, I do not any longer.

More than overrated it has become irrelevant. No one cares about love sparks anymore but can that person support a family? How much they make? Are they good with kids etc...

Which doesn't matter when the Qun takes over all these rolls and removes the child from said situations. As such, love is seen within itself as a waste. It offers nothing but an early death.

Bah, "love". It's all about what you can get out of a relationship. The moment the cons outweigh the pros I show a dame the door(as my last GF found out).

It's mostly the NPC elves that are WTF (them and Orana. WHO THOUGHT THAT CLOWN MAKEUP WAS A GOOD IDEA).

Yeah. Strangely I think most of the ones that looked decent looked decent because they had pretty much none of the major parts of the redesign.

 

...guess you kinda changed your mind on that a bit, BioWare...

I wouldn't have even considered playing an elf in DA:I if they looked like the ones in DA2.  The latest version is a huge improvement.  Maybe even better than DA:O.

Yep. And I'm pretty sure Fenris is pretty highly based off his VA as well. But in a good way instead of that creepy offputting tallis way.

I saw Zevran and had to blink. Man they screwed him and Teagan over. Alistair apparently was mostly crappy lighting but Zev and Teagan have my sympathizes.

There is a mod in DA:O that gives the elves the DA2 look.  Seem some pics of Wardens with that design, they look pretty good.  Not sure about the rest of the DA:O elves, though...

Really?  I knew that the DA2 elves had a few fans but an entire mod to convert DA:O elves to that style?  I never would have imagined that...

I think the issue is with the DA2 elf design you have to put in a decent amount of effort to get anyone decent looking. So for the PC that's not much of an issue cause people put effort into their characters faces. (same with companions really).

 

Its when you hit the NPCs that it becomes a "wait a minute..." moment.

 

I think Orana and Nicki Minaj have the same stylist.

I liked DAO elves more than the DA2 redesign. Fenris, Merrill, and Orsino looked good but all the other elves looked really strange to me.

I'm happy that the DAI elves look really good.
