Really?  I knew that the DA2 elves had a few fans but an entire mod to convert DA:O elves to that style?  I never would have imagined that...

 

I think it's more for consistency's sake, tbh.

 

I think the issue is with the DA2 elf design you have to put in a decent amount of effort to get anyone decent looking. So for the PC that's not much of an issue cause people put effort into their characters faces. (same with companions really).

 

Its when you hit the NPCs that it becomes a "wait a minute..." moment.

I prefer DA2 elves to DAO elves. A shame they went back to DAO style for DAI.

Eclipse was a pretty lousy graphics engine, I think that's the main for why some character looked wonky.

you are forgetting these unions and the resulting child aren't favored by either society, elf blooded humans are shunned by Humans because one parent had the nerve to do with a elf despite praising our superior/desirable good looks. While a Elf parent who brings a human child into the world is seen as kind of betraying her kind, or at least amongst the Dalish.

given the usual fantasy trope of elves being pretty, I'd say it is indicative of something that that in particular is the race/origin specific dialogue they chose for them rather than something actually related to the origin...

While I do think humans often find elves beautiful because of evidence in the games and related literature I don't necessarily think that has to mean that humans think that elves are more beautiful then humans. Humans probably find elves attractive because they find them "exotic".

In an ideal world the races would be kept separate but it's not, so it's fortunate that such a union doesn't create a full elf or even worse, a half-caste.

There's also a fantasy trope of elves being superior, and all we've done is prove them wrong and hypocritical.

Just wanted to pop in to say hello.

 

I RP elves in fantasy RPG all the time.

 

My favorite elves are the Dunmer and the Orsimer. Red eyes, tusks and beards are awesome. 

 

As for Theodosian elves, I prefer Dalish over City. I like freedom myself so...

 

In DA:I, I will most likely be an Elven Archer Rogue. Magic this time around is not my cup of tea whereas the rogues this time around are awesome. Though I do not know if I should go for Tempest or Artificer.

Pfff... If you are going for min/max then just summon the Golems every time. You don't even have to bring a party.
