Oh please the Demonpocalypse and civil war will have put paid to any ideas of foreign adventures. Orlais will need to focus on rebuilding for years after DAI. And that will provide the national focus Gaspard was looking for with an invasion of Dogland.

Nope too late. Gaspard has roused the protective mother bear in me. I shall not let him have the opportunity to hurt my Warden's home.

But...but..Ferelden is so terribad. The only reason they are as "advance" as they are today is because of Orlais.

But Ferelden is terrible and a Free marcher, Vashoth, Surface Dwarf, or Dalish shouldn't have any in-character reason to give a **** about Ferelden one way or another!

WELL I CARE.

I can make a perfectly IC (non metagaming) reasons for my PCs to detest Gaspard on sight anyway. Even if it's for metagaming reasons on my end ^_^

Besides Alistair as king, did anyone actually stay there? No. Three guesses why.

They don't really have much of an IC reason to care about Orlais either. My inquisitors are going to have to make their decision based upon what's presented in game mostly.

They're as much based in Fereldan as Orlais (Frostback Mountains).

Not really. They're are strongholds throughout Orlais and Fereldan, yes. Which one matters more, Orlais. It's more powerful, more advance, and has better ties to the rest of Thedas.

I called the 2nd Edition AD&D "Complete Book of Elves" Mein Alf because it presented them as the Master Race.

I *HATE* elves who are better than humans at everything.

It makes it fun killing them.

Dragon Age Elves are awesome because they're the dirty poor underdogs.

How do you feel about Elder Scrolls elves? I found the Bosmer/Altmer/Dunmer divisions pretty interesting.

Actually, that is exactly what I meant, he was not laying siege against her for making golems, but rather for making golems with purposes other than serving him. The only reason Branka wants to make golems is to recapture dwarven glory and what not, the impression that slide left me with is not that she was directly opposing Bhelen. Rather that she thought making sure the golems were used for all dwarves was more important than making sure they were only used to support Bhelen.

Aye, rather a shame that Harrowmont was more predictable than an elf gal whoring herself to out to Alistair. But what can you do... apart for not picking those options?

Apart for that, what was mean exactly? I didn't really notice anything nasty about your posts :(

My Dalish Rogue resents that remark.

She did not ****** herself out to him!

...He had to buy her flowers and dinner first.

Actually Ferelden probably has better ties to the rest of Thedas. Orlais' only true friend is Orzammar. Most other nations are a little resentful or wary of their imperialism. I also seriously doubt that a full half of our map is going to be presented as meaningless or insignificant to the Inquisitor.

Not really. No one respects Ferelden. No one. Orlais may not be liked. But it is definitely respected, unless you live in Ferelden. Respect matters more.

And what are you basing that statement on? WoT actually has a whole section about how much of Thedas dislikes Orlais. It even says "Much of Thedas looks at Orlais with disrespect and even contempt".

I found those divisions pretty interesting as well, even if the Altmer were douches.  The Bosmer were pretty interesting (and looked better) as were the Dunmer.  Though, then again, the Argonians are my favorite TES race.  Breathing underwater?  Natural disease resistance?  Ability to increase health regen?  Reptilian?  Seriously, what's not to like?   :P

Argonians are the shizzle.

I really liked the elf designs in Skyrim... though a lot of people found them off-putting apparently. The Inquisition design's alright, if a bit uninspired maybe?

The developers obviously see some justification, or rather, intended there to be some justification, in that the Mer held the first civilisation of Tamriel and that the men races either invaded from elsewhere or rose up to usurp power from the Mer. What I mean is, I don't think the game was constructed for the Altmer to be pretentious snobs without cause. An individual Altmer is more gifted than anyone else on Tamriel, but that doesn't make them the master race.

The Bosmer still hold their half Aedra aspect because they are in constant communion with an Aedra, the spirit of Valenwood. They are the most neutral race on Tamriel but have know known to be quite ruthless when their forest was endangered. Every single Bosmer is more than ready to sacrifice everything they are for protection of their beloved forest. The Bosmer are the best thieves in Tamriel and since they never cut or use any piece of the wood from their forest they always steal it or trade with the Altmers.

The Dunmer have been isolated for quite a long time and have seem to lost most of their "Mer" qualities. In other words they don't' seem elven at all anymore, but they are still interesting race to look at.

I wish the Dalish were like the Bosmer from elder scrolls. Living in a gigantic forest where humans fear to enter like Kocari wilds and were quite content with ignoring Thedas and getting ignored by it. It seems like a very peaceful life imo, always safe and protected by the very environment you protect.

Yeah your right, The Dunmer are the greatest Mer in all Tamriel. True and Loyal servants to the Empire
Not like those traitorous scum the Altmer or their Bosmer affiliates
But you missed an important one, they are less Mer than all the others: The Orsimer.

I think all of Alistairs gifts were found now that i think about it... Maybe we should compare them based on material value?
