This isn't about Andraste. Or her religion. This about elves and humans sharing a homeland together, and religion doesn't need to be involved with that.
You'll accept the elven religion and cultural traditions for things like magic, then?

throw some flapjacks in there and im soldI like maple syrup on ham, sausage and bacon and love putting jam&jelly on Hardes sausage&biscuts
I hope Thedas develops the concept of minority rights at some point.
That's a bit advanced for a feudal society, or do you disagree?
Hopefully.
I support the city elves being treated as the equal to any human in similar status.
That's gonna be a long and rocky road though =/
Here's a entertaining thought, using the Inquisition to jump-start Thedas' equivalent to the Enlightenment.

I'd argue it's closer to the early renaissance, especially in Orlais.
In hopes for a future homeland! Od lo avdah tikvatenu!
Why would the race that founded and built a nation acquiesce to the desires of a secondary race that was granted permission to live on the outskirts of town purely out of altruism when their ancestors could have simply exterminated them? The humans don't owe anything to the elves... it's harsh, but true... if the elves had any power they'd be able to negotiate and implement aspects of their culture into their nation's identity, but right now they are at the mercy of humans. That is not my opinion or even something I'm happy about, it is simply a fact. The agreement doesn't have to be "fair," since the humans are under no obligation to do anything at all for the elves... none.
That's why the moment to act is now, while chaos grips the human nations, no?
Hence why, once again, I'm in favour of the Dalish just moving on and finding somewhere beyond humans.
Not much left for them in these parts anymore. The horse has been dead for centuries now.
IMO that's their best shot at a future, and the city elves should probably tag along... I doubt it'll happen though, since that would make far too much sense. The story is better with them deciding to live in the wilderness or slums for seven hundred years... ![]()

I'm hoping my CE with the Teryn boon has already started it a bit in Fereldan. A city elf with land and the power of nobility behind her? Surely that has to push change a bit more.
If that's not retconned into my CE just getting the land but not the title anyway. If it is I'll be so bummed out ![]()
All elves are cattle.

Those are pancakes yes? I love pancakes too oh and eggs.

Religion? Who cares?
Magic, no. When you having rights infringes on others having rights, you don't get those rights. It's something we all have to live with.

They just refuse to let it go admit they lost. Grumbling about it will surely get them Aralthan back. Somehow.
I guess they expect to find Dragon Age's version of the Crucible and it'll instantly kill all those pesky humans on their lands. Or something. I'm not sure what their gameplan is.
How is co-existing anti-elven?
It's not really co-existence when one side completely subjugates and dominates the other. That's like saying african slaves in the colonies successfully co-existed with the plantation owners.

It's not though. The poster in question said that he wants elves to finally join human society as equals.

Except, outside of Tevinter, Elves aren't slaves.

Knowing their luck though they'd probably end up bumping into something like the original humans that opted to stay rather than migrate into Thedas proper. *insert critical mission failure theme here*

Dalish leader: This isn't about strategy or tactics!
Dalish Leader: We fight or we die!
Dalish Leader: You're just a shem! And shems can be broken!
Dalish Leader: Being enslaved by Tevinter is EXACTLY the same thing as having a Darkspawn apocalypse varric!

Depends. How much money do you have? What is the name of the puddle you spawned from?

No matter what choice they make, their aravels crash land on a jungle island for no reason whatsoever.

It's always nice to move the goal post to improve accuracy. As to the question, I want the leaders of a country to lead. That's their jobs. If the that's nobles, yes. If it's not, no. Should an elf be able to marry into a noble family or earn a noble title, yes. That's what it means to be equal, as opposed to tipping the scales.
Except, outside of Tevinter, Elves aren't slaves.
As I said before in this thread, I'd rather be an elf in Tevinter than one in an Andrastian country. At least in Tevinter elves can be rich and/or be members of the ruling class[ even if only in some small fashion], as opposed to the the 'good' countries where elves get their houses burned down for buying property outside the alienage.

I just choked XD
Damnit Admiral!
They are pretty much pulling a Shepard but without Shep's trademark get out of jail free cards to save the day XD
Where would the Dalish go?
To the qunari lands? To the unknown/uncharted lands where they could all die from some foreign disease? To the unknown/uncharted lands where they may have to war with some other culture for a new foothold and thus be the humans to those people?
It's not so easy to just pick up and leave. They could send an expedition force out and possibly never hear from them again, losing more "pure elves."
Their best bet is to gain an alliance/friendship with a human nation, be it the Anderfels, Nevarra, or even Orlais. They need more trade and they can gain land when their chosen friend/ally goes to war and they help, against the Qunari or some other human faction. I think that is their best bet in surviving. Some clans are already opening up to humans (the Keeper in the MP, the dalish in the PnP RPG that sets up a festival near a human town, but not sure if that is canon...) and there are scholars who are interested in the Dalish and the Dalish can use those sympathies/curiosities.
Just throwing my thoughts into the thread.

Semantics. Such things don't happen on a grand scale.
