Anywho, I'd love to continue this debate, but I'm cleaning the carpet at a Perkin's Restaurant tonight so I need to get off and get ready.
Safe travels!

Also true, but I have higher hopes for the elves uniting for a common cause, a homeland, than I see for humans uniting for ANY cause at all. They are too divided by nationality, religion, class and prestige. Heck, the Chantry's templars and seekers are split on their loyalty to the Divine and the desire to hunt mages, despite believing the same thing.
Not saying the elves don't have the same problems, but not to the extent of humans, and the elves ARE more united than humans are, and are less, not free of, but less prone to infighting.
I see no reason why the elves should just suddenly unite under anything, especially not to be delusional. They've lost this battle before. Why would they try again at a disadvantage.
Many Dalish also do not regard city elves as 'true elves' until they start worshipping the Creators and such. I haven't seen much evidence of city elves longing to reclaim their lost homeland either. The two groups do not seem allied at this point in time.
Hey biowaremod2? You there? What happened to not bringing up irl religion, politics, or other such issues? This kinda makes it seem like theres a bias going on, ya know biowaremod2?
I don't think you know what a fallacy is, or what Bronitarian is talking about....

Whoo hoo! Finally a new vallaslin... no idea what it might mean though. ![]()
That's a fine looking elf as well... the CC in this game never ceases to amaze.

It means I am a heretic in need of death!
It means I am a heretic in need of death!
You don't know that. It might mean "I love Tevinter." We need a Keeper in here to translate the symbols... :/

I, for one, am proud to be a heretic actually. It's fun.
Meh purge? let me just step into webway gate where your kind can never find me again.

We can even edit Adam's Apple? Lol. Anyway the lore says "When a Dalish Elf comes of age, they are marked with intricate tattoos representing one of the elven gods. The tattooing is preceded by meditation on the gods and the ways of the Dalish, and by purifying the body and the skin"
Vallaslin is supposed to represent a god, or it can be anything?
Elgar'nan: God of Vengeance
Mythal: the Great Protector
Falon'Din: Friend of the Dead, the Guide
Dirthamen: Keeper of Secrets
Andruil: Goddess of the Hunt
Sylaise: the Hearthkeeper
June: God of the Craft
Ghilan'nain: Mother of the Halla
So 8 Vallaslin? Because I doubt any dalish would want to represent the 9th, Fen'Harel: The Dread Wolf, aka the god who betrayed the elves.

I want an "I love Tevinter" Vallaslin now lol
I'm more happy with the elf in the character creator than I was disappointed in the scarcity of Qunari hairstyles. I really liked the example they made. ![]()

Well, it used to be gods, but I think that may have changed... it's possible that these are unique to Lavellan's clan and still represent the gods in some less obvious way than the ones from the Sabrae clan and Zathrian's clan, or perhaps these are merely artistic... it's hard to say.
In DA:O we had 2 versions of each vallaslin, one simplified and one very elaborate... if the ones in DA:I are not symbols of the Creators, then I have no idea how many we can expect to see. 4 have been shown so far... 5 if you count the one worn by what may have been an enemy NPC...
There were more Vallaslin designs created for Dragon Age 2, so I figured probably since there is now more designs than there are gods that some might represent other things about Dalish culture than the Creators as well.
Of course using "never" with intentional undecided plot and challenging everyone else by saying "Are we still questioning it" while the whole thing is meant to be questioned is not a fallacy am I right?
Not really. Fallacies are about circumventing logic, not having a lack of evidence. Me saying the elves "never ever were immortal ever," isn't a fallacy. You saying, "You sound like people in court who swear to god," is a fallacy.
You don't know that. It might mean "I love Tevinter." We need a Keeper in here to translate the symbols... :/
It means, "I'm the cooperative kind of Dalish." Trust me. I'm an expert Dalish Keeper myself.
It just looks like a butterfly tattoo to me, to be honest.

How long did you spend in character creator your first playthrough? Long enough for the elves to lose immortality?
Patrick Weekes @PatrickWeekes
I had a VERY SPECIFIC jawline in mind.

There aren't enough elves, period.

You need to stop being prejudice in this thread. This trolling also really needs to stop.
An elven land huh?
I give it a week before the thieves guild, merchants guild, carta, crows, and mercenary guilds all seize control of various parts of this new land, and install their own puppet leaders to run that ****.
They got the capital, they got the connections, and they got the know how to turn it into the biggest black market failed state in all of history.
