I know those feels. Mine kept ending up with really chubby cheeks, looking like a hamster storing food. I was also never happy with the first hairstyle I picked.

I hate it when you think you've nailed it in the CC, then you excitedly get started and your character enters the scene...

As there is no Magic mirror in Inquisition, I may have to restart a few times if I don't get it right. This is too long of a game to stick it out with a character I'm not happy to stare at.

Absolutely. I got all the way to getting my mabari before realizing how much I hated my nobleman and restarted, haha.

Both elves look terrific. Much better than DA 2 *shudders*

If it lives up to the hype, I'm not sure I'll leave the CC once I get my hands on it.

Yeah that's basically what elves have been in literature for decades.

Actually humans just look like less attractive flat eared elves....in most literature elves are the first race...... ;)

The mirror was such a great idea I'm really disappointed it's not returning.

Being able to fix CC mistakes was a life (character) saver but changing Hawke's hair and make-up for no more reason than I wanted to was just fun. Dumped by Fenris cue fabulous hair, red lipstick and fierce Don't Touch Me armour. Mum's murdered- hack off hair, no make-up and wear the nose streak of mourning warpaint for the rest of the Act.

Honestly, I'd rather they have been closer to their DA2 counterparts than their Origins counterparts. Bioware said they combined them, but I don't see it.

the nose and facial structure is closer to DA2, the rest of their bodies are just closer to scale with the head.

As a freckled (non-ginger), my feelings are hurt by the anti-freckle sentiment.

Of course, since I dig my freckles, I've already gotten over it.

I had to restart Mass Effect 3 about 4 times to finally get my fem shep right (after the import royally screwed her face up) Yea, that look happened everytime, she would look thing in the CC then crossed eyed, or have no nose from the side view, or her forehead juts out unnaturally or.... yea i think you get it.

I always wished Mass Effect had something like that. Due to the lighting being different in the character creator than the actual game, I kept having to restart from the beginning (having to keep watching long unskippable cutscenes in the process) just to change eye or hair color. I hope the character creator in DA:I has good lighting.

Without a Mirror of Transformation type of thing the character creator for Mass Effect was an excruciatingly experience that lasted months.

I had no end of trouble with femshep in ME3. Something about her cheekbones was just really hard to get right.

Suit yourself, I'm glad they're as far away from DA2 as possible. I suppose they could have kept the funky eyes and colours and I wouldn't have minded overly much, but we can probably just do that in the CC.

With a rare exception like Athenril, most of the DA2 elves were ugly. Let's hope they never go back to that again. I prefer a more LOTR movie look to my elves.

Even Princess Zelda looks like an elf done right.

Mine always ended up looking like a duck :(

And all my Wardens post human noble all looked like Tamsin Greig, she is a very pretty woman but to have it happen again and again no matter how little you mess with the CC is quite disconcerting.

I just hope there's something in the new CC that says: "Making the cheekbones jut out even more? Are you sure you want to do that? Don't you remember Lorelei Cousland? Don't you remember how many times you jumped out of your skin whenever she appeared on the screen? And what are you doing to those lips? No! Stop that! Stop that right now!"

Since there's no Mirror of Transformation in Inquisition I hope the character creator allows us to adjust lighting, angles and facial expression to get the best possible idea of how our character will look in action.

I would have liked to have kept the eyes and the nose, they help to distinguish elves from humans rather than it just being a height and ears thing. For me the biggest problem with DA2 elves was that the body proportions didn't look right and because the game was so rushed only plot relevant elves looked like they had any effort put into them.

I still can't fathom why, in this day and age, you wouldn't put in the ability to change your appearance after creation.  It's such a nice quality-of-life tool, saves so much aggravation for those who have to restart to fix a minor error, and allows you to keep your character interesting and evolve their appearance with the story by changing hair, applying different make-up, growing a beard, etc.  Really bummed they didn't just move the mirror into the Skyhold.

Eyes, yes, and a bit more of an 'alien' facial structure, but not the nose. That reminded me too much of those filthy Navi from Avatar.

I hope so too but it doesn't look that way. In that video, where they showed the default male heads, it looked like it had a green fade glow for the background

I shudder to think what that would do to the skintones and how many times will I have to restart once I find out it looks completely different in normal light.

Maybe the Inquisitor's head has a crack in it like their hand?

It looks like they still have the child's bodies they did in DA2 with the strangely narrow shoulders so...yay? People that like the alien look can still have that aspect and people like me can hide it under piles of clothing and armor.

This is the first time I am actually happy with the Dragon Age elves. I absolutely hated their look in DA2. The eyes and the nose were the worst, imo.

I am just going to say it: I loved the elves in TW2 and would love to see that be a standard. I know a lot of people disagree with me, but meh. I think looking "different and alien" is overrated.

I agree about the plot related elves-- they did look better, but only slightly.
