Hey guys lets post qunari inq backgrounds that we plan on using. Ill share mine if you do. (Would go first but self-conscience
)
I have ... Twenty-four playthroughs "loosely" planned (includes hair, eye, skin, horns or not, romance, pref team, and concept). Six of which are qunari:
Ashkost - name meaning to seek peace
At least one parent qunari and having fled they Qun, they birthed Ashkost outside of Qunari lands and raised him near a Chantry until misfortune took its toll and once on his own, he tried to keep his morality in honor of his parent(s?) while working as a mercenary in the company of those who reminded him of his parent(s).
Asalaaban - name meaning soul of the sea (born at sea)
Two qunari parents fleeing the Qun because of a child born of passion rather than a demand of the Qun, born on the ship and expected to die, Sally ended up following her parents as they worked as Tal-Vashoth and it was never expected she would do anything but fight against them. There was no sense in believing in a tenet that declared you (or your child in her parents' case) invalid.
Sayasala - name meaning with a soul
Stolen from the Qun before he'd learned to speak, not necessarily by a birth-parent, who raised him with at least one other qunari child with whom he may or may not have lost touch. He was raised among liars and thieves, and despite being a talented mage, assisted in forwarding their way of life by means of exotic seduction. Still a virgin, Say is simply to be my uncharacteristic beauty, where if I could mod his body to be lithe and lady-like, I would. He is meant to be androgynous and angelic. Innocent and agreeable. With a soul - and without a purpose. Others would have kept him from the Chantry, no particular objection; but his terror of what the Qun demands of its mages will be part of him.
I was going to stop here, but now I'm having too much fun.
Jolene - named after Dolly Parton's song d: // my Shepard (name meaning pretty, apparently)
Born outside the Qun by at least one qunari parent who found work from a sympathetic farmer after fleeing Qunari lands when they developed magic ability far later than the norm. This magic was hidden from Jolene, and was discovered when a Templar came calling. The Templar was the only thing to keep her parent from killing themselves. Despite being sympathetic to their desire for freedom, Jolene has since sought to be as righteous as the Templar, to be able to save other mages and families. Perhaps rejected by the Templar Order, Jolene satisfies herself with mercenary work.
Sataareth - name meaning that which upholds or enforcer or defender or a sword in DA2
At least 5th generation non-Qunari qunari. She has no ties to her ancestry except some completely butchered language. She is fascinated by it, and respects those who follow the Qun, but feels it is vastly outdated and short-sighted. She fights with the Tal-Vashoth for coin and not any moral or emotional obligation. One parent of hers might be a book-keeper, and the other might work in a winery or whatever - just everyday people.
Kaaras - name meaning navigator (default name, and I loved it)
Story inspired by // stolen from Snook's idea: Pregnant mother fled the Qun because of emotional attachment to her unborn child. Born at sea or very soon after arriving elsewhere. She was able to leave with Tal-Vashoth who wanted their dues and took them from her. She had no more love for them than she did the Qunari. When Kaaras started developing magical ability, the Tal-Vashoth attempted to steal him knowing that she would not approve of them employing them in their work. They were right, a struggle ensued and she was murdered. Kaaras works with them as he has no other place and was once too young to object. Kind of a Frollo - Hunchback theme. However, he isn't all mopey, hiding everything under a layer of lust and humour like other DA characters.
Edit: I think I caught all the qunari, Qunari conflicts. @_@ Damn religion-race confusions.
