Indeed. And since they specifically mention that our family members are in the Chantry, I wonder if we actually have family members in the upper echelons, like Cleric or Grand Cleric in the Free Marches.

It's likely that the Human PC will have family attending the peace conference.  Which would potentially inspire some heroic angst.

Maybe not our character but it's possible those involved with the Chantry or Templars or even mages might have heard of the family.

I wouldn't mind hearing stories about previous Trevalyans who became legendary Templars, for instance.

I'd like to see some detailed lore about House Trevalyan in-game.

The clergy in Ostwick maybe, though I'm not sure we'd actually personally know anybody outside of there. They may have heard of our family though. I'd be surprised if there weren't some paths opened up to human characters on some heavily Chantry-related questlines.

It's been mentioned that your race can determine the chance of resolve certain situations without violence.  I imagine that a human PC is going to have an easier time in most social situations.  Orleasian nobles aren't going to be all that shocked by Free Marcher noble, after all.

I'm contemplating renaming it to something more appropriate. Maybe the 'Fictional Genocide Thread.'

A place where people from both sides are welcome to come sling it at eachother.

Agreed.

WTF happened in this thread =/

Trust me, they got people for that. I'd imagine a bunch of people would kill for the honor to smith weapons for Chevaliers.

Probably Master Smiths who charge top-dollar for masterwork weapons.

No i was wondering who actually did the smithing.

If they had surfacer dwarves or something or maybe master armorers over in Orlais.

And what about just family history? Remember how the Couslands were featured multiple times in the lore with grande tales of their exploits?
I hope there are some codexs detailing the feats of the Trevalyans.

One of the reasons I'm bummed that we seem to just be starting in the Fade without actually seeing the conference. I wanted to see some more of my new family before they're obliterated damnit. ;_;

It would be Castle Highever all over again.

I'd imagine they got important around the Qunari Wars.

Marchers and all.

I think there's supposed to be a little of the summit before hand.

At least we actually got to see our character's family there before they all died. Made it all more impactful because I actually liked them at that point. :/

I believe that we will be able to relive all of what happened once we get spit out of the Fade and Cassandra catches us. During our interrogation, we'll have a big flashback.

Hopefully, but the new clips they've shown make it seem like we create our character and then we're in the Fade, and if I remember right they've said that's the first thing we ever do in game.

I guess it could all be placeholder though.

EDIT: though I guess Eluvianus Rex's idea is possible

"you'll see a sword up close real soon Oren."

I can't help but guilty laugh on replays. I'm so sorry :(

I'd have loved an indepth prologue that spanned about a dozen or so quests though, just covering the conference.

Just meeting all the important people, maybe chatting politics depending upon the PC, breaking bread, earning a few brownie points.

Then the world can end, but i'd like to enjoy more then a brief second or two of the calm before the storm.

That was the worst part. I wish we could have found Fergus sooner so he could join in on the Rendon Howe revenge.  :bandit:

If that's the case, I hope we get the chance to exaggerate.  Like Varric in the prologue of DA2.

I liked all the Origins, but HN got special for me in the Sacred Ashes quest when you saw Bryce again.

I would like to meet both sides of the conflict, both the Templar leaders as well as that of the Magi.

My name is Inigo Montoya Cousland. You killed my father. Prepare to die.
