I imagine a Free Marcher would be mainly biased towards the interest of his/her city-state. It would be interesting to see the relationships between each one. Maybe everyone wants to band against Kirkwall after what happened. Or just close the doors and throw the key into the Waking Sea.

Generally, the thing city-states hate most are other city-states.

Yeah, I imagine they can hate eachother and are getting tired of Kirkwall at the same time:

Tantervale: "Move out, our templars are better!"

Ostwick: "My walls are thicker!"

Wycome: "Hic! Heeee!"

Kirkwall: "Hey guys! How is it going?!"

Starkhaven:

Spoiler

Everyone: "...Go away..."

More often, yea. But in the case of my inquistor. I wrote up her background that her mother is a noble lady from Nevarra. Thus she has some ties to the Kingdom of Nevarra.

Damn mothers and their influence on impressionable kids!

I'm basing my first female mage off of Sorzus Syn, Jedi turned Sith Lord, one of the original Jedi Exiles from the end of the Hundred Year Darkness, and creator of all sorts of abominations :D  She'll start of as good, then become corrupted over time and it will be a glorious downfall.

Let's keep this stuff going.

Anyone else curious about the Trevelyan family?

We know we're the youngest, right? And I think I read we're the third, like Sebastian.

Any confirmation on that?

We've had two memorable patriarchs of the previous two human families. Who could forget the awesomeness that was Bryce Cousland, and even though Malcolm Hawke is never seen alive, he still manages to have a powerful enough memory that it might as well be a presence.

I wonder if we're going to have a Patriarch of the Trevelyan clan this time who contrasts with these two. Who is stern and lacking in the area of affection.

Am I rehashing something that's already been gone over?

Do you imagine we'll meet either parents or siblings at some point?

We don't know alot about the Trevelyans, our family, they might be the ruling family, or just a prominent one. Hard to say. We're definitely the youngest of the clan. Warriors/Rogues were trained to serve the Chantry, most likely as a Templar, whilst Mages are sent to the Circle at Ostwick. The reasons for attending the conference vary greatly though. Warriors/Rogues come to help out relatives supporting the Chantry, whilst Mages come as part of the Magi delegation. We have a very real reason to attend the gathering.

Indeed we do.

This is all on the wiki, I want to speculate deeper.

*sigh* I guess I just have to wait.

Ostwick likely has some connection to Fereldan considering its ruler is called Teryn, a Fereldan title. So there has to be some connection with that region. I am thinking it was either ruled by Fereldan or founded by people from fereldan who decided to keep that title.

We already do. Well except for Par Vollen, Seheron, the underground and the Fade, but one step at a time.

Most of the Free Marches has a distinct Alamarri influence, which dates back to when Andraste and Maferath landed there with their armies.

If you care for Orlais then you must make Alistar king as he will try his best to achieve peace. David Gaider have said that to expect nothing less from Anora than you would from her father.

Fereldan will likely never be a threat to Orlais.

Ferelden is an underdog nation but the only nation that defeated a full front of Chevaliers in a single day as well. We can always find ourselves cheering for the underdogs, because why would anyone cheer for a nation that has everything it needs including money and power to win. That's just boring.

I detest Ferelden. Despicable barbarians. Barely human.

That means don't be surprised if Ferelden is actually a threat to Orlais. That would be a much better plot than Orlais simply attacking Ferelden because its stronger.

I can't wait to play all the races, including humans. I think I'm going to play two humans- the one who isn't a mage will be satisfied with their upbringing, but not particularly fond of the Chantry upbringing. The one who is a mage will feel a bit sad that he or she spent their life in a gilded cage, but won't hate the Chantry for it. They'll just call for a re-modeling of the system.

Again, what does this have to do with anything? You're opinions on what you want to be a good plot has next to nothing to do with the fact that nothing in game suggests that this is true.

I don't "want" it to be a good plot, underdogs always make a good plot.

To you. For someone who likes to rag on others for stating their opinions as facts, you sure seem to do it a lot.

For that to be true that actually had to by my opinion but it isn't. We actually start from an underdog nation and that game is probably Bioware's best and most sold game. That's just how most games do their thing and people like it.

Best selling does not mean best story. Even in this plot, Ferelden is not acknowledge as a threat by anyone. It's still your opinion as the only basis.
