I'm just gonna let you guys have your fun, DA is one of the very few settings that Elves are not superior to humans by their very nature.

._.

one of the few?

Pffffffffffft

I can name six off the top of my head that aren't DA right now.

1.The Witcher

2. Warhammer

3. The Book of Amber

4. Elder Scrolls

5. Monster Hunter Series (I hope you enjoy trailer parks if you wish to see the elves here :P )

6. Oh and finally we have Iron Tower :P

Elves range from semi perfect ageless beings to literal trailer trash across different media.

That's where you are wrong hun, the humans may outnumber and win in wars, but an individual elf is superior to individual human.

The Witcher, what I said applies.

Warhammer, The Eldar live for 5000+ years, they have plenty of time to train but they lack the numbers. The most elite soldier of Eldar will almost definitely win against any human. (not to mention the Eldar are innately stronger and humans catch up with technology)

Book of Amber, never played.

Elder scrolls, Elves have won far more wars if you check the lore and currently are the winning force. Wood elves used their wild hunt ability and exterminated every single noble line of Nords who they claimed were ascendant of gods which proved they were just puny mortals and with it Nords were in a huge civil war for many hundred years. Again elves have innate advantages such as very long life, communion with spirits etc...

Iron Tower and Monster Hunter Series, never played.

I don't think I need to name settings where elves are superior, you certainly know about them and their number.

Tolkien started the trend! But supposedly mortality was a gift to humans to be free from pain and fighting etc... whereas Elves are immortal and there is no "other side" even if they die they will return many years later so there is no sort of escape. They have to fight, always. Those who redeem themselves can move to a place where they will be safe forever... in mortal world.

Eh my thoughts on "elven superiority" involves either wholesale slaughter or wholesale servings of humble pie.

Not really, for the most part all they usually are given is the ability to reach advanced age and slightly keener senses, that's base crap that hardly matters in combat.

Being able to see slightly better may be an advantage on paper if only just i suppose, but i wouldn't claim it somehow makes elves superior.

So Witcher no, They have no innate advantage that makes better "warriors".

Do i really need to cite all the neat toys the Imperium created back its glory days? I mean all the Eldar have going for them is the Webway and that's a crumbling wreck, just like them.

Its funny you say humans have to play catch up when they invented and explored things the eldar, either version of them never did.

TES.

Right; I can point out the summerset isles being submission to a human ruler for a few centuries or the Nords claiming Skyrim from the elves, but whatever.

You can be wrong, i really don't care.

I mean in TES its pretty evident its a Human dominated world just about like in every universe.

I lol'd. Elves have won two wars against mankind. Scratch that, one war against mankind. The Great War made them lose their entire army.

I mean in TES its pretty evident its a Human dominated world just about like in every universe.

The important factor is, they are innately better and most of the time more civilized.

For example before destroyed by Slaanesh and other demony things of Warhammer they had an empire which was ten times more advanced than current human empire and the human divinity is utterly questioned when you play with Eldar and find out about a corpse that has been protected from decomposition by magic which is called the "god-emperor" whereas the Eldar gods are as real as real gets.

TES just wants to show the shifting of power but it always returns to the elves, Nords may have defeated the snow elves but received the most devastating defeat of TES history when they went for Valenwood, home of wood elves. Do you even know what wild hunt is? Wood elves turn into almost immortal beasts who feel nothing and are practically unkillable unless their target is dead, after which they eat other or even themselves in a "orgy" kind of way. Wood elves get this ability by communing with spirits of Valenwood. Humans are proud of their bloodlines connected to gods and elves have killed all those lines and better yet have forbidden worship of Talos in almost everywhere. That's as grim as defeat and humiliation gets.

I lol'd. Elves have won two wars against mankind. Scratch that, one war against mankind. The Great War made them lose their entire army.

The Great War was pretty bad for both sides of the conflict.

Only united under a single glorious empire can humanity not only survive but thrive.
Talos/Tiber Septim conquered nearly all of Tamriel and became a god.
Sigmar Heldenhammer united the human tribes, befriended the dwarves, defeated the first everchosen of chaos, the largest orc army in history, the undead god Nagash and then became a god.
The Emperor of Mankind saved humanity from annihilation and created the greatest empire in the history of the galaxy.
Aragon united the races of Man, helped defeat the Dark Lord Sauron and reestablished the kingdoms of Gondor and Arnor.
We are powerful. We are numerous. But we are easily divided.
One ruler. One empire. One race. Humanity.
P. S. I support humanity in all it's glorious diversity and similarities. I oppose racism of any kind or form in the real world. But in RPG , their is one question? What's more awesome, a human warrior or a human mage?

Only throughout the Empire, which is what?

Three provinces counting Cyrodil if you want to.

Talos Worship is still alive and well in the province of Man, I mean seriously if you think some imperial decree disregards the literal divinity of Talos that's amusing, but inaccurate.

Beyond that there have been many indicators throughout ES that Talos is in fact a god, they threw in a few in Morrowind, Daggerfall, Oblivion and Skyrim.

Crud in a literal afterlife, Talos is mentioned as a God, if the folks dwelling in the plane of one God acknowledge the exist of Talos, pretty clear indicator he is one, sure the literal line of Talos ended, but that didn't have much to do with the elves, if you meant the line of Nordic Kings, only one Borgas actually died at the hands of elves.

.-. All in all i don't see much point to what you claim.

It depends on what you prefer. Powerful beings with supernatural abilities or normal people who become great through effort and training.

Personally, I prefer the later.

I mean i view it this way.

an Orlesian Chevalier can reasonably be declared the greatest of warriors in Thedas, and that is due entirely to skill and training.

No mystical abilities, no artifacts, just blood and sweat and knowledge.

Who was the most important human in the history of the DA universe?
Archon Darinus, Thalsian or Hessarian?
Andraste or Maferath?
Kordillus Drakon or Calenhad?
Let's get a conensus. One of the above or more? Feel free to add more!

He founded a nation and a dynasty that lasted nearly four hundred years old. Pretty impressive for a former nobody.

Jeshavis is known as the mother of Orlais and did help create its founding so she is probably important.

Also created the grand game.

Just thinking about this. but what is important? is Corypheus important because he was one of the first humans to step into the Black city? thats pretty important. yes bad. but no elf has ever done that.

Sure but the nation and dynasty he founded are a joke.

I mean its like crediting the first "free" ruler of Kirkwall as keeping the city alive after the Imperium fell.

Sure it happened but does it really matter?

The point is elves have been in power for longer and some Aedra were originally elves so I don't see your point here, so one man who became god? Too late to the join the bandwagon of mortals becoming gods. Elves were shapeshifting gods long before humans existed and through this blood line the Bosmer still possess some of their old godlike powers.

Brogas was the last one so the line was ended by Elves, which was what I meant earlier. Plus Talos is mostly worshiped in human provinces, all which are part of the empire and it has bowed down before the Elves. Lgeally its forbidden but its not stopping anyone from doing it in their basement.
