That doesn't mean they source of creation is the same. Generally speaking, the mer are be direct descendants of the Aedra, having been tricked by Lorkhan into giving up their immortality to create the world. And they have proof because men are just men whereas elves live several thousand years, have closer relation to Aedra and are better with magic.

They didn't come from same beings, get your facts straight cause that is a joke.

Wrong. They both descend from Elfoney, the Aedra who shed their immortality to propagate Nirn. You do know that the Nine Divines aren't the only Aedra, don't you? Seriously, as an ES nerd, this is starting to get kind of annoying. Elves don't live a single thousand years, let alone several. Only the most versatile in arcane magic can, and in that case several men have lived thousands of years as well.

I remember reading Umaril made most of his men do it to gain more power. Only the civilians were "normal".

I have never even vaguely heard anything about that.

Wrong. They both descend from Elfhoney, the Aedra who shed their immortality to propagate Nirn. You do know that the Nine Divines aren't the only Aedra, don't you? Mmm you know annoys me as a moderate ES fan? The lack of mention and conjecture of Sithis considering he created the situation for creation, seriously bow down to the dread father.

Although you know what i found even more annoying then that?

Harkon, no one agrees about anything when it comes to Harkon, some people claim he is a first era altmorran warlord, some folks think he is a second era warlord, some folks just think he has dementia.

ANYWAY

I feel like the extra ability really puts the humans head-and-shoulders above the other racial options in DA:I. At least for me it does.

Yes I do know the nine aren't the ones. The spirit of Valenwood is one of them and the Bosmer are literally half Aedra as they still retain their shapeshifitng ability albeit with lesser control.

A large fragment of the Ehlnofey world landed on Nirn relatively intact, and the Ehlnofey living there were the ancestors of the Mer. These Ehlnofey fortified their borders from the chaos outside, hid their pocket of calm, and attempted to live on as before aka gods. Other Ehlnofey arrived on Nirn scattered amid the confused jumble of the shattered worlds, wandering and finding each other over the years. These Ehlnofey were ancestors of men.

Eventually, the wandering Ehlnofey found the hidden land of Old Ehlnofey, and were amazed and joyful to find their kin living amid the splendor of ages past. The wandering Ehlnofey expected to be welcomed into the peaceful realm, but the Old Ehlnofey looked on them as degenerates, fallen from their former glory. For whatever reason, war broke out, and raged across the whole of Nirn.

The Old Ehlnofey retained their ancient power and knowledge, but the Wanderers were more numerous, and toughened by their long struggle to survive on Nirn. This war reshaped the face of Nirn, sinking much of the land beneath new oceans, and leaving the lands as we know them (Tamriel, Akavir, Pyandonea, Atmora, and Yokuda). The Old Ehlnofey realm, although ruined, became Tamriel. The remnants of the Wanderers were left divided on the other three continents.

So the originality might be the same but only the Elves hold their godlike powers. Lore mentions elves can live some thousand years but Tamriel is unforgiving and they usually die before reaching a thousand but they CAN live that much.

What you read is wrong. And nonexistent.

I just love how you rage and jump to conclusions. Pretty sure you can read it from in-game books in Oblivion game.

Edit: Ayield magic users used their own soul until there was nothing left.

*snip*

Thanks for proving my point for me. Old Elfoney and Wandering Elfoney are still the same species. One wanted to escape the Grey Maybe, one wanted to go back to being gods. Doesn't really change my point.

As for the rest, Rage is too strong a word. I can't hate something that doesn't exist.

In a show of support for my fellow humans, ladies, and gentlemen, I would like to quote Hamlet, "What a piece of work is a man, how noble in reason, how infinite in faculties, in form and moving how express and admirable, in action how like an angel, in apprehension how like a god!" and that is why we rule Thedas.

Because if Alienage elves have taught us anything. Elves don't resist for long. they just run or summit.

Also i'm saying this with a lot of humor since i am a pro-elf moderate. I think they just stay in the Alianages and just try to change from within.

If it comes to down to that, the Malazan Empire's marines will liberate Thedas just like they've liberated the Letheri from the similarly gray-skinned Edur.

It's funny, I think the human background in DA:I sounds like the most interesting.  It also seems like humans get the weakest racial bonus in my opinion but it looks like they'll get the most advantages in the storyline compared to the other races, i.e. they don't suffer an racial biases like elves, qunari, and dwarves will suffer from.

I'm planning on having a playthrough with a human warrior, and he'll look like WWE superstar Roman Reigns, hail the Roman Empire!

I feel quite the opposite. Between the speed at which we tend to level up in Dragon Age games, and the higher amount of boring passives in DA:I, I'd value having more "toys" to play with above anything else.
