Yeah, if she's wearing much in the way of makeup it's hard to tell. I'm glad they toned down the eye shadow at least. The blush wasn't too bad.
Agreed.

you must be a real hoot at end of the semester parties.Speaking for yourself dude. There is no "we".
My biggest complaints are that:
1. Both "add on" romances are straight. I mean really?
2. Sexuality tropes continue. Jovial bed-hopper = bisexual; noble knights = straight; flamboyant mustache guy = gay
I have to disagree with Dorian being flamboyant, just like I disagree with the people who say Zev is flamboyant. They're suave and take care of themselves. That is not the same thing as being flamboyant. The two romances being straight is ok with me, but I wasn't interested in either character.
Thanks guys I might go ahead and pick it up. ![]()
Buying... idk, I had fun with it the once.
It's pretty budget, but if you like Cassandra and anime, you'll most probably enjoy it quite a bit.
Yes I'd agree with this. I thought the story was ok, the adherance to lore was passable and the action over blown as is the style in anime, but I'd be lying if I said my interest in Cassandra as a character wasn't enhanced by watching it. Look at it as a Cass story rather than a Dragon Age one and you will probably get more milage from it.
I wouldn't pay much for it though.
Also take this into consideration. Just because one group has more options than another that doesn't mean those options are better or that your options are somehow diminished.

You know its kinda unfair to judge Cassandra until you actually are playing DAI and the fact is we "straight males" have only 2 options maybe you should give her a chance actually experiencing her romance arc might change you mind about her.You never know she might grow on you.
the thing is I actually like her character I wanted to romance her since DA2 but her new face..
we will see I guess
This one's a little skewed, imo, and not completely fair or rational. Not only are their contrasting options in all categories, but nowadays there’s just about a trope/stereotype/cliché/generic/offensive archetype for every possible variance of every possible variance.2. Sexuality tropes continue. Jovial bed-hopper = bisexual; noble knights = straight; flamboyant mustache guy = gay
You're lucky! It's good you can have an enjoyable experience no matter what gender you play. It would be nice if you could recognize that not everyone is as lucky as you are though.
Another thing to consider about those of us who aren't planning to romance every single character for one reason or another is that TIME is a factor too. Each playthrough of DA:I will be 80 hours or more, according to what I've heard, and I have a 9 to 5 job, a child I really enjoy doing stuff with, and want to have a social life with adult friends and family too.
So, because I'm already not going to be playing every gender and race combination available, I know that I'm also not going to be experiencing every romance that will be available to my (self imposed) limited number of Inquisitors. That's okay. I'm looking for quality in the game experience over quantity.
I just wish people would understand that with those limitations, it also means that I don't want to waste time forcing myself to play through a video game romance with a character I'm not particularly enamored with. It will make me resent the character more than anything. So if I'm sad that, for instance, I can't play out a romance with Cassandra and my female Inquisitor, it's not that I'm being stubborn or unreasonable by not rolling a male character for that purpose. It's that I don't want to waste time playing a character I won't enjoy as much, for a romance that is not going to be as much fun for me as it would be if it were written as f/f. I'll get over it, of course, but I'll keep hoping that in the next game, or someday, Bioware will write a romance with the designated leading lady/female deuteragonist that is available for female player characters again.

I like interesting people, and they look like interesting people, and considerably more authentic than you typically get from mainstream entertainment.
It does in this case (for me) lol I hated Dorian since the 2012 survey and the only guys I ever wanted were Cullen and Blackwall. I would've settled for Solas... gee I didn't even get him either. Sigh.
Honestly I much prefer this approach to DA2's though. All LI's being romancable by any gender made the romance feel so... meta - just another mechanic like upgrading your armour or choosing your talents. Characters with actual preferences feels a lot more convining and yes that means some routes are closed off. Aveline and Varric were more interesting to me as characters because they were unobtainable. It frustrates me as a serial romantic, but it satisfies me as a lover of story.
I'm pretty cool with women getting more options. I only wish that there were at least one more non-human female LI for the gentlemen since I'm not too fond of my het elven/qunari/dwarven male PCs romancing humans (in-game lore and stuff). But as far as ratio goes I'm not really too bothered since I play both male and female PCs. As far as the romanceable non-human female goes, part of me thinks that there will be a DLC party member that will fill that role (yeah they said there wouldn't be BUT, devs say stuff all the time regarding DLC). A qunari or elven female party member who is not gender or race gated would sell like hotcakes.

I've been called out for the flamboyant thing before
You're right; suave is a better word. He's also canonically "dashing" and a joke was made recently that he likes to change his clothes a lot. It is just not much of a risk to make that guy gay and, say, Blackwall straight.
I agree with this with Iron Bull its Zevran all over again
the bisexual one sleeps with everyone and is that happy to type of guy
the gay guy is "suave" as you said it
and Blackwall who would have provided an awesome opportunity for a unique gay romance
but nope they went with the save and typical approach

Indeed, it is true... my point is that I don't think this has to be seen as a negative, or rather, consider that maybe Dorian for example wasn’t a brash Blackwall type warrior because Bioware wanted him to be an easily liked and familiar hero. He was made to be appealing.Well it's true that my bi option is a bed hopper, my gay option is a fabulous mustache guy, and the two knightly fellas are straight.
But I didn't really care what preferences the others had.
They simply had no preferences. It felt like no matter what, they're will fall for you if you show interest. And rivalry system didn't help the cause either. It was just "we don't care how you treat us, it doesn't matter who you are - our bodies are ready".
Do. not. want. that. again.
Looking forward for DAI.
Unfortunately I feel the opposite. Isabela was clearly bisexual and that was fine. But I didn't really care what preferences the others had. When they were in love with my Hawke they were just in love. I personally did not need Fenris to sit me down and discuss his sexuality. I'm not sure how that would have made him a stronger character. Unless it's related to the story somehow, a character's sexuality has no impact on how strong or well-written he is.

Isabela really wasn't "clearly bisexual", especially when playing as a mage where she never talks about women at all unless romanced or did the threesome with a female warden & Leliana, can pretty easily come across as a man crazy straight woman who enjoys sex
You...

ain't nothing but a hound dog?

I wouldn't call myself lucky. I have just always been able to separate myself from the characters I play in a game.

The great joy I have in playing these games is being able to identify, for just a little while, with a character who doesn't necessarily look like me. Just please understand that not everyone has your same experience. When it comes to how you're able to enjoy playing these games, I do consider you lucky.
I agree completely I play alot of different Characters and with the majority I decide the personality and prefrences of said character before hand and then go from there with Romances/Choices and such.
But the ones I really connect with and feel more invested always ends up the straight male PTs because those are the ones I can empathically put myself in those characters.
Pst. Iron Bull is not bi, he's pansexual. There is difference..
