Yeah that was super uncomfortable and cringe worthy >_< also every flirt with Sebastian made Hawke feel like a rapist because most of them were pretty crude and none were reciprocated until the very end.

Still not as bad as some of dude Shepard's flirt in ME2 though. That weird awkward "You want this." so much no Shepard. So so much no.

Hmm my Hawke that romanced him was a mage, although I don't remember his flirting with any of my non-mage characters (female or male). Maybe I didn't see it as a flirt, it's not the first time that would be the case.

I remember some flirts but I always hit the flirts early. He's pretty receptive to flirting back if you hit on him first regardless of friendship/rivalry.

Edit: damn brain farts.

"If I had known Anso would find me a woman/man so...capable, I would have asked him to look sooner."

Is that the "coming on" by Fenris being discussed? I do remember it seemed a little flirty, especially the way he said ...capable. Then Hawke could say "flatterer" or "back off". Or a neutral option, unlike with Anders who you either had to please or not.

It could have been a certain dialogue choice that made it different. I usually don't romance Fenris, the last time I tried it didn't register and I had gotten through over half the game thinking he was my LI, but he wasn't. He had gotten with Isabela instead.

Ugh yeah that sucks. Actually to avoid it was the reason I chose that one cringe worthy flirt which just sounded creepy coming out of my Hawke (I mean a mage Hawke at that ugh). Anyway I wish there would be some indication in DAI to make sure you have an LI. I mean how often in real life do people not know when they're dating someone?

I do remember him flirting back, I just don't remember him flirting first like Isabella does or Anders if certain choices were chosen. The poster I originally quoted implied that Fenris usually flirts first. Hmm...

Maybe they took that capable man/woman remark as a flirt. I didn't but apparently some did *shrug*

OO! I'm going off-topic again. So, my thought is "sameness is not cool".

I'm a fan of not being treated differently based on gender, so I guess it's just a matter of personal taste.

That was the line that I got. I don't remember him saying it to my Mage Hawke. Instead he brings up the fact that you are Mage.

Oh what were the lines? I'm curious. I romanced both of them with a same sex Hawke so I didn't even know this existed. I actually did watch fem Hawke/Anders on youtube, but never remember seeing this.

With Merrill it comes up when she visits you in your mansion, and with Anders I believe he mentions it in the good-bye scene in the Gallows, the whole "One day our children will be able to live in freedom..." I don't play straight romances tbh so I've only seen them on YT, but they are there ^^

He says it to everyone. I got it on my mage Hawke plenty of times.

That's when if you flirt with him he gives you the whole let me work on my flattery later remark

"You sound like you're about to ask for a loan."

"Well this mansion could use some upkeep." (I do love how Fenris snarks right back at snarky Hawke and actually laughs at his/her jokes regardless of friendship/rivalry.)

Yeah I love that part too, and back to topic

As a female player, I am happy with the choices. After all, since you men did not have to deal with the cheating and death in mass effect 3 like we women did with Jacob and Thane.

Someone should remind Anders he's a tainted Warden - though how he could forget, given the state of him in Legacy because of the taint, I don't know!  :)

She's a much better choice than Hawke, tbh.

LOL He might phrase it differently... He may say something like, "The children of people like you and me"...? or something? I know he says it to female Hawke and not male Hawke. To male Hawke he just says, "One day, people like you and me..." or something to that nature. My Hawke was thinking, "That's cool, man, I didn't wanna adopt anyway... *sad face*"

I prefer good written characters when it comes to romances, if a characters is straight he/she is straight, if he/she is gay then he/she is gay, and if he/she is bisexual then he/she is bisexual, and the same goes for race preferences, it gives us better written characters overall and better and more different romances too, see DA: 2 as an example of what should NOT be done when it comes to writting characters and romances (and many other areas of the game...).

That said I would like for the options to be equal for both genders, I think Vivienne and specially Leliana should have been romanceable for male characters, specially Leliana who already was romanceable in a previous game (and is bisexual) but whatever, as long as all the companions (romanceables and non romanceables) are well written and when it comes to romances each one feel different and unique I will be fine with them.

With straight female characters having more options, remember. As ever, the benefits only come if you're straight.

I thought bisexual female elves had the most options.

I agree. Fenris calling Hawke "capable" as in skilled at killing, doesn't sound like a flirt to me. More like a nonsexual compliment. But Hawke is supposed to interpret that as a flirt. :?

Now if he was like Shale.... "I was watching the light play on your muscles as you ended lives left and right..." that would be another matter.

It's the way in which it is said. And since Hawke calls him out on it, and he doesn't deny it, it was obviously meant to be whatever Fenris calls flirtatious.
