It's a role playing game. Bioware is just trying to give you a reason to role play outside of your safe place.
Going to make a huge guess and assume you were generally happy with choices you were given.

It's the same trope though.
There's also Leliana, Anders, and Josephine (And Merrill and Fenris)
People seem to keep focusing on one side and not the other

Yes. I'm going to have a fun time climbing the wall, ridding the bull, playing hide and seeker, getting cozzy with Josie, toughing the mustache, dreaming of a dreamer, playing the wildcard, and taming the templar.

you begin unhappy with your choice's is not Biowears fault.
Probably an intentional reversal from ME3's offerings.

I don't think they ever said it was Bioware's fault. Some people can enjoy exploring different routes, others can't. Doesn't mean it's their fault, either. I can admit how lucky I feel with the romance choices and wish it was the same for everyone.
Pfft, he does not. He did not have a romance scene at all..
Pretty sure he counts since if you agreed to marry him it's mentioned that you're now married in MOTA and Legacy.
And implying that you need sex to have a romantic relationship is quite silly and probably a bit offensive to asexuals.

I never said it was there fault either it's just unfortunate that there tastes are different to the choice's offered.
Don't know if this was brought up here but is it bad that people are disappointed? I myself would rather prefer a even split but it always seems that people get attacked because of that. Of course it's different when their complaining gets outta hand
If you don't like your options it's understandable, even for straight people, to express that and there's nothing wrong with it. But there is a difference between being disappointed and acting entitled, and some people veer into the 'acting entitled' side.

It's not bad that people are disappointed. I wish it wasn't the case at all. Most people who feel that way on here are mature and respectful about it even so, which I'm thankful for. It's only bad when they are mean or rude about it, which I haven't seen much of lately. The complaints about Sera and Dorian were bad for awhile, but they've died down thankfully.

To be fair, there was quite a bit of complaining about Cass and Cullen as well.

True. I don't follow their threads as closely so I didn't see much but I'm sure it was there. I can understand some venting after the initial shock of the announcements though. It's just when people get nasty about it that sucks. :s
I missed out on the whole Dorian and sera thing (glad I did) but I hear it was the same people who complained over and over. Also rather than disappointed I'm mostly confuses about cass....I was so sure she was gonna be bi
I have thought many things... and was proven wrong later. So I have learned to never assume. Either that, or I'm just a horrible guesser. ![]()
I feel like the realism argument is pretty weak. And ignores the intent of the devs. I think people like to choose a bit in things like this what is more "realistic" and what is not. It is less who is more realistic and what is not, and more a wide variety of characters with different options and thus representations, or 4 options that allow greater influence in gameplay. pretty sure one has a much bigger budget than the other, and I think we can expect to usually have 4 bi companions that are romances unless it is a large budget and then we get around this number.
I'm bisexual in real life, and that generally transfers into my characters - both intentionally and unintentionally. No doubt the same will happen in Inquisition. I'm very grateful for and happy with all the options available to me and I understand that a lot of people might be unhappy with only having two options, and not having their wished-for LI available to their preferred race/gender combo.
Having said that, I'm very keen on Bull and Sera in particular at the moment.
Thank you Bioware!

I don't see why Thedas has to be majority heterosexual, to begin with. The "realism" argument is absurd.
The word play sexual gets thrown around a lot but couldn't it just be a alternate universe? I bring this up after hearing about the multi verse theory in persona that makes everything canon (or something like that)
I prefer them being portrayed as strictly Bisexual., and that being mentioned in the game for both genders.

Eh, that doesn't really excuse it as it's a pretty weak excuse to me. I'd rather they just had sexualities rather than the whole 'playersexual' thing.
to me, the only thing that made them 'player sexual' was the avoidance of them being bi when the player was the opposite sex.
Meaning: Anders doesn't mention Karl to a woman, Fenris gets with Isabela regardless of players gender but unless Hawke is a man shows absolutely no show of intrest in men, Merrill doesn't show much interest in anyone honestly until the romance scene. Even Isabela only vaguely mentions women while men she mentions a whole darn lot.
I woulld like them to all be Bi, instead of seeming straight or Bi. It means that a huge representation is cut when the player is straight. I wish all 4 had been more fairly shown as Bi.
If they were the current sexuality and all were romances, I am guessing that Isabela would be Bi, Merrill would be straight, and Aveline would be a lesbian. Varric would be straight, Anders Bi, and Fenris Gay.
Dude, trust me, it is a stereotype for a reason. We are massively awkward.
Speaking for yourself dude. There is no "we".

I have to ask, why do you think Aveline would have been a lesbian ? It's the same thing that people have done with Cass. Having strong features does not mean they're lesbians, and these kinds of assumptions are a little annoying.
