Rannoch: Geth Fighter Squadrons is hands down my least and probably only real disliked mission in the trilogy. One thing that I've always had trouble buying though was the so-called "archive" files you're forced to sit through. Why do all of the Geth in these files have the same exact synthesized voice as Legion? Also, it doesn't make any sense for an organic to interperet the Quarians as always being in their enviro suits. What if someone had never seen what the Quarians looked like before or after the Morning War? Would they appear as just humans or asari?
Odds that "Archive" files from Geth Fighter Squadrons Mission were fake

Forced? And they have the same voice for two reasons
1. Bioware doesn't have to pay a bunch of different people just the one person.
2. Legion clearly explains that what you see and hear is a representation. The visuals and audio are taken from shepards own memories, Shep outright asks why quarians are wearing masks legion asks Shepard how many Quarians he has seen without masks, "none" (or possibly only one if you romanced tali) the same logic applies to voices.

I liked it. It reminded me a little bit of Portal 2. The level would become awesome if we had some of those springboards.

Have to say playing without Legion at all gives a completely different spin on the geth.

I'd say the odds are pretty remote. Something being a lie is pretty important to the narrative, and must be something you can determine in the game through some other dialogue or quest item, like a log that contradicts what we saw, or a character that tells a different story. If the writers made it so that the logs in the consensus were made up, but gave us no way to determine that they were and never spoke out about it themselves, then this "fact" simply doesn't exist.
Besides, nothing we see in the consensus actually conflicts with whatever Tali's told us so far.

That mission can be skipped if the player chooses. The logs that show the Geth talking can be skipped by walking to the next part of the mission. Also the player gets 2 upgrades that can help.

Why would robots have distinct voices?
The Geth Prime that walks down to talk with Shepard and Tali after the Reaper Destroyer is killed and the Quarians cease fire has a very distinct voice from Legion.

This sounds like laughable BS to me and an excuse Legion may have used to provide flimsy plausability. Showing files that are related to the Reapers would have made a lot more sense.

Actual video logs would show the Quarians without suits, not some "representation." But remember, Shepard is a dumb ass. I say they're fake. So if you play a Shepard with over a 90 IQ, fry the toasters.

Because the Quarians are evil genocidal maniacs and the Geth are totally innocent.

"No, because there is no such thing as a soul. There is such a thing as an arbitrary machine race that prefers siding with the reapers - not once but twice mind you - than come to a resolutuon with organic life. Now stop struggling whilst Tali stabs you some more."
"It looks like you are trying to deactivate the Geth. Would you like some help with that?"
"Not now EDI."

I guess the possibility could exist but in the context of the Rannoch arc?
None.

It was clear as far back as Mass Effect 1 that the Quarians were the aggressors in the Morning War. The Rannoch arc just reinforces Tali's dialogue from the first game.
That being said, no doubt Legion is being very selective on which memories it shows Shepard. After all, we don't see any memories of Geth slaughtering billions of Quaran civilians in retaliation. So in that sense Legion is being manipulative. But it isn't lying.

The Geth are lying. They are lies of omission in favor of the geth. Half-truths. Hence propaganda. Communists, all of them.

Don't plan to step into this, but Han's post just about sums it up. People interpret the "footage" in a lot of different ways. Some claim that "Creator Megara's" death indicates the Quarians killed off a significant percentage of their own people, but for all we know Megara's death was a one-time-only incident on the scale of Kent State which nonetheless tripped something in the consensus' thinking. It was clear as far back as Mass Effect 1 that the Quarians were the aggressors in the Morning War. The Rannoch arc just reinforces Tali's dialogue from the first game.

Maybe it was Legion in all that early archival footage. Time is immaterial to geth, and there are 1183 geth programs inside Legion's platform. That one scene which depicts a geth picking up a Widow SR, and shep says (something like), "Hey that looks like the same one you have." Then there's a pause and Legion says, "It is an efficient model." ... it always kinda made me think Legion was showing shep its own 'memories' (for lack of a better word).

I thought the same as well but then he says "that unit was an agricultural" something something so i'm not sure if it's just more of the "data unavailable" crap that had me wondering for so many years and turned out to be BS.

Slightly off topic: what happens if you don't do the mission? Are there consequences in the Priority: Rannoch mission, or is it just a consequence of a few war assets?
