You can't broker peace without it.Slightly off topic: what happens if you don't do the mission? Are there consequences in the Priority: Rannoch mission, or is it just a consequence of a few war assets?
Odds that "Archive" files from Geth Fighter Squadrons Mission were fake

Just lose some war assets. If you don't do the mission, you won't be able to get peace between the Geth and Quarians.

I thought the same as well but then he says "that unit was an agricultural" something something so i'm not sure if it's just more of the "data unavailable" crap that had me wondering for so many years and turned out to be BS.
Thing is, given the way the geth operate, it's not impossible that some of the programs in Legion would have originated from that unit. After all, Legion's body was purpose-built to explore outside the Veil, and it's probable that those programs existed elsewhere before it was built.

Well, there are two ways to look at it - either as a pretty cheap attempt to push the image of innocent little Geth babies, or as a subtle way of showing the Geth's cunning and intelligence in their selective presentation of the Morning War.
I'm sure everything you were shown happened, but either of those explanations will do for telling you why this mission was the way it was. It's probably less annoying to go with the latter.

The only really new information we get on that mission is that not all the quarians were genocidal maniacs.

Legion's body apparently was built with a hole as well since the VI also has a hole.

You can skip those video logs.
You don't get the upgrades though. Anyone OCD enough to still be on these forums at this point can't resist the temptation. While they are playing I just have Shep run in circles like a lunatic firing off the electro gun into the VI's face.

Forced? And they have the same voice for two reasons
1. Bioware doesn't have to pay a bunch of different people just the one person.
2. Legion clearly explains that what you see and hear is a representation. The visuals and audio are taken from shepards own memories, Shep outright asks why quarians are wearing masks legion asks Shepard how many Quarians he has seen without masks, "none" (or possibly only one if you romanced tali) the same logic applies to voices.
Which is a BS cop-out handwave because they didn't want to canonize in game quarian faces. There is no legitimate defense for the records appearing the way they are.

Just press the button to view it, and once the video log starts playing, you can run on ahead and skip it.
That's what I do.

Ah yes, you are correct, but isn't there at least one that you have to sit through for the path to continue?

Even that was known already from Revelation, though they didn't make much of a point of stating it in-game. "The Quarians had neither the numbers nor the ability to stand against their former servants."The only really new information we get on that mission is that not all the quarians were genocidal maniacs.
A huge flaw IMO in the way ME3 presented the conflict was the way it weaseled around any direct mention of the 99% extermination, isolationism (killing envoys and ignoring hails), and barely made note of the heretics. But, then, this is nothing which hasn't been discussed to death already. Best place to start the series, and all that. Gotta wonder if the sweep-the-mountain-of-corpses-under-the-rug-and-flash-bambi-eyes gambit would be as successful in real life.

There are two, but those are with Legion.

Not all the logs have upgrades so the others can be skipped.
