Is there going to be a New Game+ type thing?

Many Bioware games have some form of New Game+, which is great because you get to be really powerful and perhaps be faced with new challenges and also fully explore the upper end abilities and gear.  Mainly it's good because Bioware games often warrant multiple playthroughs since there are so many choices to make throughout the game and multiple endings and whatnot.

So, I was wondering, has any of that been confirmed for DA:I?

Considering you can keep playing after finishing the story, I kind of doubt it. As far as I know, they haven't flat out said so, though.

Last time it was asked the answer was no. I don't like it, but the reasoning behind it is probably because it's more open world now and you can play after the main story is over. Would have loved it though.

Hope not, I hate that sort of things.

I don't object to NG+, but I object to it being gated behind game completion.

Why can't I import a high-level character into the beginning of the game to first time I play it?  NWN let us do that, and it was awesome.

I would love to have that feature, but don't think we will get it.

you can continue playing the game after the main story is over o its doubtful, plus it will make playing new DLC easy with a already high level character.

ME2 had the feature, and you could keep playing after the main game ended.

Q: Will there be new game plus in Dragon Age Inquisition?

BioWareDAI   The game doesn't end when you finish the main story. We have discussed New Game+ but nothing to announce ATM - Mark

Thanks! I imagine they would have announced it by now, but I'll probably remain in denial until I play the game.

Mass Effect 2 allowed for continued exploration after completion and NG plus. I don't see why it wouldn't work for Inquisition just because it happens to be open world. Another example would be with Dark Souls 2 which allows you to continue exploring the world after you beat the end boss but you can also do NG+ if you want.

Baldur's Gate and NWN all had import features so you could import your old character into the beginning of a new/old campaign if you wanted too. This effectively served as NG+ and then we have all the Mass Effect games with NG+. It's always hit me as strange that Dragon Age lacks this feature. Oh well, so long as Inquisition's post-ending isn't just an empty world with nothing to do afterwards (like in Origins and DA2) I'll be fine but a NG+ mode would be nice.

I don't think it will. I hope it does, but I think it would have been confirmed by now as that is a feature many people care about.  Then again.....I don't really get Bioware in their handling of this game.  They just announced MP a few weeks ago and the game was supposed to come out next month...now Nov.  I have mixed feelings about all of that, but I guess we will just have to wait for confirmation or release day.  Fingers crossed.

Can someone explain to me, what's the appeal of NG+?

Why would I play the game again, with no character progression this time around? Isn't it better to just play the game again with a different character?

I truly never saw a point.

It probably wouldn't work due to lots of the creatures/enemies being a set level. So, unlike in me1 (I think), the enemies wouldn't be scaled to suit the fact that you're way higher level than them and the game would be rather boring to play.

I care about the gameplay and not so much the character progression.  I searched all the nooks and crannies and jumped through all the hoops to get the equipment I wanted the way I wanted it.  Now I want to play and enjoy the game...while my character is exactly how I want them.

It can be fun replaying a character with awesome stats/armor/weapons from the start. Plus, like with the MEgames, it lets me refine a favored character by making slightly different choices. But having NG+ doesn't negate new character creation. In the ME and DA games, I create anywhere from three to seven characters per game.

Can someone point out a game to me that still had relevant and fun things to do after the main quest was completed in a story driven game, and you continued playing? To me the "boss" fight is always the crescendo, and games I've experienced after that point were kind of...meh.

maybe because you shouldn't have one yet?

Then there's no need to restrict it, is there?

What if I have a character I've played halfway tthrough the game and would like to start over with that same character?

Is encounter scaling a requirement for enjoying this? NWN was still playable because everything was built to scale to the PC's level.

I wouldn't mind if some achievements unlocked some nice starting gear when you start a new game.

If its in the game, at the moment doesn't appear it will be, I would be ok with having it. If not, I won't lose any sleep over it. I'll still enjoy playing the game
