Is encounter scaling a requirement for enjoying this? NWN was still playable because everything was built to scale to the PC's level.

To a point. If you wandered around Neverwinter with a level 17 Cleric, you could insta-kill basically all the undead you found by turning it.

Actually, I recall being annoyed by even that limited scaling when I found it. I think my idea would work better with no scaling at all.

I always loved it for Mass Effect, but don't think we will see it for Dragon Age anytime soon. Sadly.

Then there's no need to restrict it, is there?

What if I have a character I've played halfway tthrough the game and would like to start over with that same character?

it could seriously screw up the difficulty curve and harm gameplay.... and before you say it they do cause gamers tend to whine alot when something they don't like happens even if their own fault and you don't stay in business by telling you customer sucks to be you dumb*** . see them removing killing companions in swtor during beta cause people didn't believe they could and screwed themselves.

remember you always have to take into account most of any group of people are dumber than a box of rocks.

p.s. sorry rocks.

I find a game design that assumes I am an idiot remarkably patronizing, and borderline offensive.

They shouldn't be trying to protect us from ourselves.

Interesting. I didn't know there were limits on the scaling. People told me that high-level PCs would get vampires and liches instead of the level 1 weak skeletons, but I never tried it myself.

Anyway, since DAI isn't organized around scaling, it's good that you don't want it.

I don't think the DA games have had NG+. I know Origins didn't, don't think 2 does. But the ME series did.

I'd bet that there won't be.
