Say your romancing Josephine and happen to elect to primarily use diplomacy on the war table. Do you think Cullen or Leliana might potentially call you out on favoritism? Might be an interesting wrinkle in boss/subordinate relationship that has never really been brought up in a Bioware game (ok...Mass Effect brought up anti-fraternization rules but Shepard basically blew those off).
Do you think anyone will call you out for romancing an advisor and playing favorites?

I doubt the game would really note how much you are using certain missions over others.

Can't see Leliana doing so. Maybe Cullen. Though it'd make him look a bit hypocritical, since he's a romance.

Oh I really hope so. It would make for good drama.

If they do, I would confront them and listen to their concerns. Plus I would not play favorites when it come's to a mission.

Why would they? maybe you simply prefer negotiation to brute force strong-arming? Or vice versa? You're the INquisitor, just because you enjoy one tactic and you happen to be in a relationship with an advisor who shares similar views means nothing.

I'm sure companions will gossip about it like they do in DAO and DA2.

I'll abandon my Cassandra Romance if Romancing Josephine will annoy Cullen.

Well I'm just using Josephine as a hypothetical example, it could just as easily apply to Cullen. I am not even saying the player necessarily is playing favorites I thought it would be interesting if the other two advisers suspected it, I mean there is a pretty good chance that would happen in real life.

And I certainly hope that this will be a thing if it means pissing him off. I'm one of those people who think the only reason Cullen's continued relevance is solely due to his fan base. Regardless of what the writers say. And I relish the chance at hurting him or pissing him off.

I think the only time a game has ever called you out on it was when you romanced Ashley and saved her over Kaiden.
Even then, she wasn't really upset when my Shepard was silent.
More or less confirming, "Yeah, I saved you because I loved you."
I doubt any situation will be that desperate and anything less would be....catty.

I would enjoy being called for a little side talk with Josephine when romancing Cullen, or with Cullen when I'm romancing Josie. Not for being boo-hoo-hoo ~unfair with mission distribution (if I want a highly militarized Inquisition that's what I'm getting and the rest of them can shush), but out of a professional concern for your priorities, focus, etc. I may be in the minority on this, but I always liked when Wynne and Varric questioned our involvement with companions, for professional or emotional reasons. It was grounding, and one of the few occasions when NPCs would show concern for our well being and not just for their own troubles. So I def wouldn't mind this making a little come back, specially with these two having that fun little rivalry in the background.

I agree that Wynne/Varric talking to us about our LI was a nice touch- previous reactions to LIs had all been of the jealousy variety. The jealousy conversations in say BG2 or Jade Empire were somewhat entertaining though.

Personally I hope it goes further than just that. I'd love for the game to tell that I'm nice to everyone else while I'm singling out one character being rude to them.

I think this would be cool
one thing that was weird to me about SWtOR was that when playing a Republic trooper there is a point where you get to pick one of two of your squad members to get a promotion and both of them are potential romances. Like if you're in a relationship and you promote your lover over the other person, I'd expect the other person to call you out on your nepotism.

I would hope that if romancing cass as a mage cullen give you the riot act of fraternizing with a seeker
Wouldn't that be for Cassandra not you?

I doubt that romance will be the factor in this, but I hope certain advisor will call out or question the Inquisition's method if you choose to approach this mission without heed a word from them or favor one method over the other, and choose to favor or side with certain organizations that your advisors didn't like. I also hope they will approach the Inquisitor about a romantic relationship with another advisor, and you can quench their concerns about Inquisitor not being professional or confront them directly.

Missions or advice might change based on what your doing with the inquisition in general, and conversations might reflect LI choices, but I wouldn't expect more than idle gossip or random conversation.

wiggle wiggle? Cute Alexia. ![]()
I would favor diplomacy in first run, so Josie would be favored, but also, wont neglect Leliana and her spy network, which is two of the three primaries for me, Forces with Cullen would be used when cant do the first two. Brutish being the last option. My first play that is. Second one might go brutish, one of these many, many game plays will try to have just two people left in the Inquisition, and end the world, to see how it plays out. ![]()
