Oh, Dave! I'm so happy you're hot and not creepy!
I'm not sure beard = hot, so much as beard = baseline hotness + additional hotness
And I like to think that I have different ways of being creepy outside of my facial hair!

The only females that I've found remotely attractive in this game so far are Sera (I really don't like short hair though) and Leliana, neither of which are an option. Reminds me of DA2, where the most attractive looks and personality just happened to belong to Hawke's sister, and were therefore off limits.

Well, to be fair, Sera is an option. Just not an option for a straight male Inquisitor.
I don't see the attraction to IB and BW either. I'm thankful they added in Solas and even Cullen. I would give anything to replace IB with Varric, too.
Yay! So it's not just me then. Seemed to me everybody wanted to Ridethebull and I'm standing over here thinking "Not with that horribly scarred face!" ![]()

I don't even mind his face that much. I think he's unattractive because he's designed rather poorly. I don't dig how gigantic his body is compared to his teeny tiny head. He is disproportionate to a point that it isn't believable. The massive horns don't help and he looks nothing like either style of qunari we've seen in previous games. I was hoping our male qunari would look like the Arishok, or heck even like Sten. Kinda like a pro-wrestler with rockstar hair and some well-placed classic-qunari horns. Iron Bull just doesn't look like a qunari to me. He looks like a roided-out big dude with a shrunken head and devil horns. Some of his fan art paints him in a more attractive light, and I notice that artists tend to give him a more proportionately sized head. If people want to romance him - cool. But he just doesn't feel or look like a qunari to me. It's a little immersion-breaking.
More like this man to me.
Is that Errol Flynn?
I must agree; if I play a straight male character (which I play most often), I only get two possible romance options, neither of which seems terribly appealing (although perhaps they will be way cooler than they seem atm).
I had personally hoped for Vivienne, as she seems very much what I would want in a romance companion, but mostly, I like to have a few more options in general. I apologize if this is too much a "dead horse", but I think giving feedback numerically is useful, as well as interesting/unique posts.

Or this 'revised' version of the Arishok?
This I would have loved! ![]()

Which is the same as both previous games.

I get this argument, and I know it can be a little eye roll-inducing every time a straight male complains about his options
but I just think a lot of people are feeling a little sore when they see that one group (straight gals) got four options. It's like, okay... I feel we can all agree that it would have been the most fair to make the final two "extra" LIs a bi girl and a bi guy (race-gated if necessary).

If they only had time to do 2 races for Cullen and one race for Solas I'm not sure they could have been able to make two bi companions. Bi companions apparently are a lot more work with the cinematics and such.
Double the work. So you could have had one extra LI available to only one gender. If they only had time to do 2 races for Cullen and one race for Solas I'm not sure they could have been able to make two bi companions. Bi companions apparently are a lot more work with the cinematics and such.
I hate Cassandra. I want to kill her.. Not sure what my other options are.

That's harsh.
The romance choices are what they are. True I would have liked to have seen a Rouge Sweet or Funny type female for the Inquisitor, (I have characters that dont take themselves to seriously and like women who are the same), BUT ... we havent gotten to play yet, the chosen options may just blow us away. Im staying optimistic, cant wait to see what happens ![]()
Also, what is the count up to? I admit I jsut got home from work and am not 100% awake, is it 2 Gay, 2 straight, and ? Bi? Couldnt remember off hand. It doesnt really matter, Im a role player and I pride myself on having multiple characters from all over the place, I just cant seem to remember the total ..... *shrugs*
Im even ticking them off in my head and its going like this "Iron Bull is Bi and Sera is .... Squirrel .. wait, no?" lol I need sleep ![]()

Straight - Cassandra, Cullen, Blackwall, Solas
Bisexual/Pansexual - Josephine, Iron Bull
Gay/Lesbian - Dorian, Sera
4/2/2

I wonder if no one at Bioware actually raised their eyebrows at continuing and unerring tradition of having more straight love interests than gay ones. A tradition that was originally going to be broken.
We'll find out once the games releases.....or leaks.
But I'm fine with the options. Kinda disappointed that Dorian - atthe surface- remain me more of a confident Alistair

His head is actually the right size, when comparing bone structure. Peoples' heads don't get larger just because they've gained weight, whether that be muscle mass or fat.
In the reverse, his head would appear too small were he emaciated and malnourished.
A larger head wouldn't be proportionate to him, in light of that.

Straight female players get three options. Four, if they role elf.
Straight male players get two options.
Gay male players get two options.

It's... more equal than you're painting it as.
The straight females get more LIs because Solas and Blackwall were added in at the last moment. That's all.

Actually it was Cullen who was added in, not Blackwall

My bad! Thanks for the correction.

It's Cullen, not Blackwall.
2 additional romances that straight female player characters has is the exact number that other monosexuals have. It totals to be double.
It's not trivial, and Solas' elf requirement is relatively unimportant in this context.

And straight guys only get two options as well. If you're going to be that picky about numbers, then straight dudes got the short stick, too. And straight females still only have the extra options due to the extended time.
All I said was that it was more equal than you were making it out to be.
