Believe me, I am trying!! But it seems like every single thing that comes out about either of my choices is just the opposite of what I find interesting or attractive. Their personalities especially. It's disheartening! I'm actively moving away from caring about romances now. I just try to think about how good the story will be, and hope I can create a decent-looking character (though the glimpses at CC leave me doubting that, too.).

That wasn't directed at you. ;)

You've been open minded and I'm largely in the same boat (except the dwarf options really look nice to me.)  That was more to the people that are convinced that their options are utterly terrible and disappointing before playing the game.

Oh okay :D I think I am just reaching that point where I ask myself, why am I even still on this forum? I'm so utterly disheartened. But it's like... two years of habit, visiting here and sticking my nose into every topic, well, it's hard to break

Dwarf options would be quite a lot... you mean Blackwall, Bull, Dorian, Sera, Cass, and Josie?

Guuurl....

Are we looking at different Character Creators? Because the customization options are insane, beyond any previous Bioware title. Surely you have created sexbombs with the inferior ones?

Look at my avatar...mod-less male Hawke that took a lot of tinkering but now leads me to ogle at the screen every cinematic. That low res picture does not do him justice..rawr

You cray.

I meant the CC options for a dwarven female PC looks really nice.  That was where I disagreed with you.  I'm impressed by the CC for the most part, so far.

I was able to ignore it, thankfully.  Even after some time on the BSN, it still doesn't grate on me like it does with some other folks.  Doesn't mean I liked it though...

Yeah...I managed to get over it because I wanted to romance Sebastian...but god it was hard. The animation in DAO was fine ! Why did they change it ?

I wish Bioware would have made Josephine a Dwarf instead of Human admit it she would have been adorable.

And I am still hoping for Brothels with Dwarf options available. B)

It'll go from "I hate my choices" to "Why my LI choice is better than yours" within less than a week after launch.  Mark my words.

Mah waifu/husbando is better than your's Nat!!!

I'm so confident mine will be better, I don't need evidence to prove this claim right now. :P

Could be, but as I mentioned, I have no idea which romance I would like.

Watch, we'll end up agreeing on the same LI when the time comes.   :D

I'm not more concerned about romance for this game than about DAO's. Granted, I doubt anyone as good as Merrill will be in the roster this time, but that's an unfairly high expectation anyway.

My flag is firmly planted as it is *cough*, btw seeing as you're the OP of said character thread that should help make your decision a lil bit easier perhaps .  :P

But srsly to others here I too was intentional underwhelmed with my options but the more I hung around this DAI section I began to grow warm to certain characters so keep an open mind.

I don't see how the advisors could possibly have the same content.  If they are not adventuring with you  then they can not have any banter dialogue.

They have the same amount of banter at the Keep, and romance banter wasn't all that relevant in either past games

There is more to character interaction then romance banter in the keep.  Like I pointed out you have no interaction with them in most of

the game space.  Not sure of any logistical way you could implement some type of equivalency.

I didn't know you had an early copy of the game, seeing as the advisors are arms of the Inquisition it would be logical for us to interact with them a lot

No need to be snarky.  We have been told advisors don't journey with you. If they don't journey with you , then you are not interacting

with them while journeying.   I don't need to play the game to understand basic game mechanics.  If I was being a jerk I could of made a mean comment about you not playing the game yet knowing we could interact in the keep.

The point that jamskinner makes is pretty logical. The advisors will not be travelling with us outside specific story missions (like the Leliana one in the gameplay trailer). The debs have stated that they have equivalent content with the exception of banter.

The issue with this is that a significant amount of attachment to characters stems not just from cutscene-style interaction, but from both the banter and (arguably more importantly) the time you spend with them. You can form attachment to fairly two-dimensional and bland characters purely on the basis of 'time served', because (for example) 'that time you and Cassandra beat those fifteen people and were the last ones standing' becomes part of the way the player processes their attachment to the character. Both the banter and the 'time served' element will be vastly reduced for the advisors purely on grounds of gameplay mechanics. This means that, depending on exactly how BioWare have worked around this, even if Cullen and Josephine have identical amounts of romance dialogue and cutscenes as the party members the romances could still end up feeling nebulously weaker. BioWare knows these restraints, though, so I'm interested in how they solved the problem.

Maybe you can flirt or have a one shot with that other female dwarf whom is a scout, they did say you can try at someone whom is not a companion or adviser, or maybe we will get some at a brothel lol am kinda excited to if we get one

If traveling together is an important part of your romance experience, advisor romances aren't for you. I adored Traynor partly because she wasn't on the squad--she had skills that I as Shep didn't so we felt more like partners. I look forward to trying out Josephine's at some point, which could be as soon as first playthrough.

I know that feel, I wanted to romance Cass with my female Inquisy but alas she's straight. *sadness*

Bioware writers be a harsh mistress.

Well the interaction when traveling is quite limited however. There is party banter and then companions reacting to certain things. I guess some sense you can get more attached to party members though. But the romance content for both party members and advisors is same and advisors have banter and also interaction with Inquisitor that's unique to them.

I feel the same way at first I couldn't see past one character and was initially disappointed but now I've grown to really enjoy some of the other characters. Once we know more about them things could change even more, we still know so little about most of them.

There will apparently be advisor banter, I think, back at Skyhold. And we have seen that advisors (at least some of them) don't always stay behind. For all we know, say, Josie might tag along when we go somewhere political.

No, I prefer Josephine as an Antivan Merchant Princess rather than a Dwarf. Much more unique story there.
