If bioware came out with a game with zero romance options, I would still be okay with that.  As long as there is still in depth relationships with others.  I also want to develop friendships and get to know certain characters and care about them without it being a romance.

I really like Varric and I think I am going to like Dorian a lot and would be interested in getting to know them without romance.

To be honest, I think if there were no romance I would feel like there was something missing... years of Bioware games have conditioned me to expect at least a little. And heck, Bioware typically do it quite well, would be a shame to abandon it when they're the only ones trying to do it right.

On the other hand, I completely agree with the notion of friendship. One of my favorite moments in Mass Effect 2 was when the game let me give Tali a hug. She was my friend, she was hurting, and the game let me be there for her. It was brilliant. More of that, please.

Also, I think I'm gonna hit it off with Dorian. He seems like a cool dude.

I think both Cass and Josie are gonna be great and I already have 2 Inquisitors planned for both. But I once again get annoyed at the fact we get no Dwarf Love not cool B-Ware. :(

OP, I'd love to get a hold of the early copy of the game you got. If you could let me know where got it, there's a cute kitten gif in it for you.

On the topic of merely looks, I initially found Cassandra unattractive. However that was before I was unaware of the context. She is mid to late 30's. Of course she is not going to look the same way a 20-25 year old would look. She's had more wear and tear on the body so obviously she won't be as..."attractive."

Wow I am not sure how I feel about this  *...is 34...*

Wow I am not sure how I feel about this  *...is 34...*

I had a birthday 3 weeks ago.  I'm at the decrepit and ancient age of 35.

Still, I appreciate the point that Jasuke is trying to make.   There is several folks that have associated beauty as being the sole providence of the young and fashionable, and that anyone over 30 is suddenly too old.   It makes me sad that such a narrow-minded view has been allowed (and to some extent, encouraged by the mass media) to persist, and one that I'm noticing that the younger generation is losing tolerance for.  Hurrah for the youth!   :wizard:

Also, in the case of Cassandra, she's a war veteran.  While there hasn't been wars constantly in her lifetime, she's seen a lot of battle.  Naturally, she'd look a little scared and weathered.  I think her final tweaks have really helped her beauty shine.  She looks like a lovely and fitting ground between her concept art and her DA2 look.

I'll probably end up rolling up a male character to romance her down the road, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little jealous of the straight/bi guys not needing to roll up the opposite gender on this one.

I'm in my mid-20s , and honestly, it's just incomprehensible to me how women in their 30s could be considered unattractive in virtue of their age. But what do I know?

If Cassandra's hair was around the length of Miranda Lawson's (and worn down, of course), then sure, I wouldn't mind romancing her.

Sadly, I think that this is probably true for most people.  If she had long hair, most people wouldn't have any issues with her.

If there were no romances this forum's civility would rise by about 50%

maybe I am the odd one out here, but I tend to prefer short-hair on women. I am not sure if my inquistor will romance Cassandra, but I might give it a shot. I am more interested in Josephine though :P

Nuts to those suckers, I say. It's as close to Faora as we're gonna get.

Nah not even close, Faora does change her features over people crying over being to "masculine", whatever that even means. Sigh.

Agreed. Romances we're a big part of the reason why I bought DA and ME.

Then there were the people complaining about her Keep tile.

Just...why the hell is it so important for it to look feminine ? It's an art tile for something you probably won't even be using more then once or twice.

I will never understand men who only want feminine girls. There is nothing strange about a girl having short hair, or a thick jaw. Or enjoying sports, the outdoors, Or anything.

Appearance is just far too important to some people. But I digress, I'm not going to tell people what to think. Nor would there be any point in me doing so.

What's bizzare about it is that Cassandra is still feminine in terms of her build. She's slim in her build and has feminine facial features.

The only non feminine things about her are her scar and, I suppose, her haircut.

Indeed, the character is actually quite feminine outside of her haircut and scars. There's nothing particularly manly about her personality other than her headstrong attitude.

It just goes to show you how crazy our stereotypes are IRL.

There are rumors that Cassandra has lost her scar. I don't remember seeing her scar from the recent streams or screenshots.
