I think with Cassandra they're going for a Joan of Arc vibe. Joan of Arc was known to wear her hair short like the male French knights.
Wow the romance options for this game are kinda disappointing

Although strong jaw and short hair are seen as masculine there is tons of women who have same traits, for example Milla Jovovich & Florence Welch . For short hair there is countless examples and probaply most of women have had their hard short in some period of their life.
Cause there is lot of women we share same traits as Cass, I find some comments of her appearance insulting. It's okay if you prefer something else but no need to get ugly. For me Cass is character who I relate to so I guess that's why it bothers me when I hear insulting comments about her.
Well my complaint about casses appearance is not meant for anything outside the game. If you feel you share traits with her then no, you shouldn´t think my comments were meant to insult you. I only speak for the game characters, and their complete package which looks is part of. Obviously real life people are different. I actually dated a girl like her long time ago though it didn´t end well. ![]()

No, it means that the person (people?) in charge of casting found them attractive. It's not submitted to a democratic vote who gets to be a model or not. I personally find many models to be unattractive. Being a model doesn't automatically make you attractive. Attraction is still subjective and being a model doesn't change that.
It's not a vote, yes.
You don't have to find the model attractive, yes.
But I'd say it still means something to get casted. It's not like anyone can be a model. But that, like most things. Is subjective.

I think Cass has a certain quality that she shares with my Amber Rose Aveline and thats they are both strong, capable and attractive in their own way.Dont get me wrong I love attractive Female LIs as much as anyone else like "Miranda/Isabella" but I also find strong, capable and independant Female LIs even more appealing "ME1 Ashley/Jack".
I am looking forward to romancing Cassandra & Josephine as well as shamelessly flirting with Vivienne,Harding & Dagna all as my Cadash who will also be a regular in any brothels especially if they offer female Qunari/Dwarf options.

You really shouldn't take it so personally.
Just so I am straight(tbh, I haven't read every post) besides a few comments that aren't even worthy of attention, was it the "mannish" comments you found so insulting? This is a serious question, because saying a video game character looks a bit mannish to you isn't an insult to anyone. Maybe to Cassandra, but, you know. Perhaps I missed something.

Well there has been quite many threads complaining about Cass looks. Unattractive, butch, lady manhands, dude.. I have seen her called many things in quite unflattering and somehow offensive manner. I get that Cass looks is not for everyone but like I said there is no need getting ugly ^^

Just one thing to say:Blackwall is a huge guy correct?
Well imagine the size of his...assets.And romance him all you want.
Just prepare a vazelin first. Not for him.For you.
size doesn't matter. He could be a guy who is six foot six and be tiny while a guy who is five foot five is huge in that department. But size doesn't matter....it's how you use it.

personally I like tomboyish women. Like milla jellocvich (I know I didn't spell it right). That said her cassandras hair is disturbing. But I like hair worshippers so once again it's all about personal taste. I knew a guy who had a thing for women who were gigantic and I knew one who found female body builders that were so muscular their breast were just muscle and they looked like they can benchpress a prius. To each is own

I think Cass looks like Morena Baccarin, who is very feminine, I don't see how people think she's butch at all. Ugly is another matter, as that comes down to personal taste.
Personally I think she looks great.

Romance threads....a cycle of pain and bitching that never ends like a spinning donut its all getting rather silly.
I'm happy with my options here.
On one hand I have the lovely sweet Josephine and the other tough and sexy Cassandra. I'm especially fond of the latter been waiting for the chance to romance a warrior female character and I had my fingers crossed that it would be her. I also have a thing for tomboyish women so bonus point! ![]()
Come on people try it before you lump it

The ridiculous aspect of all of this, of course, is that someone like Milla Jovovich is stunning and would be equally stunning with long hair, short hair, or a freaking mop on her head.

I think it's fine if some people don't like Cassandra because of how she looks... I've been looking around this thread and haven't really seen anything all that rude in regards to this, but maybe I missed something. Anyway, that's not the reason I am not interested. I am having trouble with the idea of romancing Cassandra because she is a Templar/Seeker and I will be playing as a mage. I just don't see how that will work out, so I will most likely avoid romance on my first playthrough (I have no interest in Josephine)... maybe somewhere down the line I'll romance her as a warrior or rogue, but a mage and Templar romance doesn't appeal to me at all.
But just so that I'm clear, I'm not really "disappointed" by the romance options... they seem like solid, interesting characters, and most of the fans seem to enjoy them. That's good enough for me, even if I won't be participating anytime soon.
edit: I just noticed a thread called, "It must be said. The companions in this look hideous." So yeah... rudeness.

This is the best news I've heard yet, Cass is a dude and straight so my female inquisitors will be able to romance Cass now.

In Dawn of the Seeker Cassandra fell for a mage, so I doubt she's as bias as a lot of people fear ![]()

Aren't mages and Templars people? I don't think you need to be interested in Cassandra. I already know you're a horrible person. Don't think you should judge her because of her job, though. Especially not her former job. Even as a fan of Cassandra, I don't think a romance will even be done well with her, that's why I'll wait until I actually see how it flows.

She may not, but my mage will. I don't see him wanting to be anywhere near a Templar if he can help it...

Unless she does or says something that completely changes my mind on this, I'll save the Cassandra romance for a warrior I think. It just seems less... messy. I mean, the guy is already Dalish, so that's one problem... then the mage/Templar thing... ugh... it just seems like too many roadblocks. I plan on making several chars, so I don't think I need to force the issue of romance where it doesn't fit...
