I see your point, but I don't think that a pansexual Iron Bull fits into any stereotype... at least not one that I'm familiar with (physically, I mean).  So they did think outside the box with a few companions...

 

Oh, no, probably because there is no stereotyped look for a bisexual person (that I can think of). No, the only stereotype I can think relating to bisexual people is the promiscuity thing... And as for Iron Bull...............

All this talk about hair is..well..I'll just throw out that Bioware doesn't do hair well in general. It's not flattering, no, but it's got less to do with the cut and more to do with the execution.

 

As far as the rest, eh. Wouldn't be the first time I didn't like the options. I just don't know if it's better or worse than DA2 in terms of options for a straight male. Not sold on DAI Cass, with the entire facial structure change and all.

I think the really shocking things for me were Cullen being gated and Blackwall being the original straight female options. BW has been kind of predictable in some ways and Cullen ticked so many boxes.

I figured Cullen for the Alistair/Anders of DAI. Clasically handsome, knightly, huge female fanbase. I was surprised older, rugged, mentor Blackwall was a LI at all, let alone "leading man."

Ugh, agreed.  Bad enough that those of us that are bi/pan get constantly told that because we find both genders attractive, we "must" think about having sex at all times.  I know that's not what the devs intend, but they are really focusing on that more than they should imho.

 

Yeah, I could use something outside of the 'Character is snarky and likes sex' stereotype. Which is one of the reasons I like Leliana in DAO.

BW has followed a certain pattern with Carth, Kaidain, Al, and Anders. Cullen seemed their "type." I was over the moon about Blackwall and am pretty much waiting to see if I like him or Josephine better.
