Why WOULDN'T I wipe out the Blood Mages along with the Templars?
Merrill and Jowan gets a pardon.
Merrill? Yes. J-Dog? Uh uh.

It was horrible before then, with both mind rape and summary executions clearly practiced (or at least attempted, as Jowan is a slippery sort).
The only mind rape came from Uldred. Once again, you're trying to twist the RoT into something it's not to suit your own argument.

Jowan was a blood mage, he broke the rules and thus was going to be annulled. Jowan is not sympathetic at all.
Also mind rape? Where, only mind rape I saw was from Uldred.

Oh its amusing to see your warped view of events hasn't changed.
Jowan was practicing blood magic, the very crime he was accused of, but the templars stepped out of their bounds ![]()
They had a witness, the first enchanter agreed, i really see no issue.
overall the laws are fair and keep all of us safe im a mage too just like you but doing broad strokes on both magi and templars only destroys the fan base again lets think this through. I seek harmony and understanding xilThe only thing that made Kirkwall unique was how easily the templars' laws were broken. The laws themselves are my main problem.
Tranquility is also a practice undertaken voluntarily and is necessary to keep the Circle safe
of blood mages or those who were possessed
I see neither as justified, especially involuntary Tranquility. I strongly disagree on its alleged necessity.

"you know those prothean ruins we clearly see on Thessia? Actually lights, the asari would never do anything wrong"

and you'd be wrong in that case
Both sides have their place in the grand scheme. Whip both their asses like an Inquisitor should!
Uldred controlling people and turning them into demons? Fine in Xils book. Killing a proven blood mage? OMG SO HORRIBLE

All of us safe except the ones who are deliberately fed to demons by the templars... which is everyone who doesn't have their emotions ripped out, and that's before the possibility of being murdered simply for being in the tower at the wrong time. And those are only the official horrors that can be inflicted legally even while you obey all the rules.

I don't talk about Uldred because there's nothing to talk about. He's a villain for everyone, he gets killed, there's the end of it.

Umm, nice exaggerations there Xil

so instead mages should be left alone in the world with nothing but their own good word that they aren't falling to demonic possession?

He did everything like Merrill does. Is Merrill a villain too? I knew there was a reason I didn't like her, but I couldn't think of it till now. Makes me feel better about killing her during the Annulment.

Except the fact it was his fault the tower ended up that way in DAO, not templars. You seem to be forgetting that and even trying to make Jowan a victim just makes your argument look weak.
Not only did he practice blood magic, knew some advanced stuff, he used it on other people to escape. He is a criminal. He deserved getting hung.
Umm, nice exaggerations there Xil
Would you prefer "emotional lobotomy?"

Ah, right, because it's completely impossible to exist between those two extremes, despite several societies actually doing just that. However, I believe in the necessity of protecting mages from demons. I just don't see the Templar Order as being at all suited for the job, and I do see their members in need of being brought to justice.
The Mages must be put to the sword it is the best solution leave the corridors soaked with blood of mages and for the red templars the will loose both the faces and the names and there heads roll on the ground leave them broken and dead

you have said in the past that you reject compromise between templars and mages
you have said how you would plan for total mage emancipation

Well, Merrill didn't get possessed and didn't attack a Circle, so not quite everything. Or anything, really.

I was never talking about Broken Circle.
It depends if they will be dumb as are shown in dai i will have to send them to feed demons so they killed each other and i could do my thing and then replace them with someone competent.
Interested to hear what Merrill did other than bang Hawke to earn the exemption compared to Jowan.
Never used blood magic for anything in any malicious way, was an honest and straightforward blood mage, and was a loyal friend who could've literally destroyed people who looked down on her and never did anything but try to understand them,
Even more, she was ready to accept the consequences for her use of the magic, e.g. her life, and took Hawke and co. because she truly trusted the rich bastard to kill her had things gone sour.

>several
>can't name one without mages taking total control and still coming under possession and using blood magic.

You're right. Merrill was prevented from being possessed and then took out her entire clan. She did something productive by removing Dalish.
