I think people should grow a ****** backbone and stop presenting their ickle feewings as some kind of personal injury everyone else is responsible for, and I damned well think people in authority should stop humouring these giant babies.

Nope. I think it's funny and great gamership to be honest. People are so soft these day's, both physically and mentally. They can't take a hit.... To the body nor their fragile little ego. 

 

Case in point, today on HALO I killed a dude with a sword and teabagged his dead body. After the match the guy sent me hate mail saying that I was someone who liked to have sexual relations with men, and my mom was a promiscuous lady of sorts and enjoyed servicing many men at once and that he was going to cause me a great injury in some kind of whooping that involved my butt..... I just laughed it off and replied with the standard, Art tho Irate Brethren? 

 

I think it's funny that something I do in a video game can cause so many to rage and rage. It's quite amusing.

Not much point in getting mad at people online, even if they rightfully deserve it. Because as much as a want to sometimes, I can't slap people through the internet.

The problem isn't "accepting the existence" of different thoughts, but sustaining verbal aggression (either aggressive or passive-aggressive) that is made during the discussion. The irony is: hardly there's someone that really cares about FACTS, even less opinions.

meh... verbal aggression is a part of any discussion. if someone cares more about yelling than facts it's not a discussion anymore, it's kindergarten. in that case: how can a kid possibly offend me?

If you care about what a bunch of words say on a message board, then you have issues. Why care about what some anonymous people have to say. I by no means should affect you that whatever someone says something, you;ll most likely never meet this person and even if you do, you won't know its them as most people have a whole different persona while online. And that is the beauty of the internet, you can vent to other anonymous ears and get it all off your chest and feel better about yourself. Its a system that works well. Sure some people attack others with the system, but it is their right to do so as they have the right to speak and do as they please. And the best solution is if you don't like what this person is saying, you just ignore it.
