There was mention of a utility that let you see where the host was iirc? Anyone remember it, does it still work? What was the name/where could you download?

I've used it, it's okay. Personally it's to much extra work for me to have to check every time, I've resigned myself to fate.

I find fate works pretty well about 96.5% of the time in this game. The other 3.5% I simply ragequit.

I've got MEPinger but I usually don't bother with it, or at least, I don't use it as a deciding factor as far as whether to stay in a lobby or not. Then again, I don't exactly need a utility to tell me that if I play at 4am PST as I usually do the chances of getting a host on the same side of the world as me are pretty slim.

Yeah it's called MEPinger. Used to use it for a while, then I discovered that it tells you nothing half the times, so I stopped using it...

My connection right now is rather bad so I'm actually finding it quite useful. I also play a bit later than most it seems so my options are bit more limited.

 

Easy download, installed two applications and it's ready to go. Hasn't taken over my computer yet with bukkake pron so I'm assuming no extra's or freebies included.

 

Finding some troubles but not sure if that's "user error" or not yet necessarily, so we'll see. Still using it, although I'm just alt-tabbing rather than relying on the text-to-speech which I'm finding a bit cumbersome.

 

It's worked a few times already. Even if it wasn't telling me ping it let me know I was connecting to the Netherlands. Too far for me to reliably bother on a squishy class. Knowing the host ping has already caused me to stay in a platinum match I otherwise wouldn't have and did fairly well too.
