There's never an 'It was fun while it lasted' or an 'I'm sorry but' option (other than rejecting Kaiden) or even an 'I didn't mean to give you that impression' option. Always makes me feel like a dick when Sheps standing there with a smile on his face dumping someone like they were a sandwich he was no longer interested in eating or alternatively in the same way Samara talks about killing people.
Romance.

I always thought the Jacob cheating on Shep thing was Biowares way of saying "You don't like Jacob? Well up yours too."

You could read that in a number of different ways though. Jacob might just be a self deprecating type. Or he might be being seen to put Miranda up on a pedestal. Equally, he might actually be a d1ck and know it. His actions from ME2 would sway me away from the last option, but his actions (if you romanced him in ME2) in ME3 would totally validate it.

I thought Shepard didn't come off much better in the Jacob romance. How much elapsed between the end of the collector mission and Shepard turning themselves in? A couple months, at most? It wasn't exactly a long term relationship at that point. And how did that conversation go down? "I'll be leaving for an undetermined period of time. I won't be able to stay in any sort of contact and we very well may never see each other again. Stay faithful!"
I really hated how all the cheating accusations got included in ME3. I like Ashley and Kaidan as characters but it made them look pretty juvenile to accuse Shepard of cheating on them during ME2. "Yes, you were dead for two years and I as good as ended things on Horizon. But I didn't move on and I certainly didn't expect you to!" I'm not even going to touch how MShep's responses differ from FemShep's.
I didn't have a problem with them addressing Shepard's new relationship. Feeling sad, angry, or regretful over it would be natural. But I would expect the VS to also have the sense to acknowledge the instability of their lives up to that point.

I'll take any and all romance options (hetero, cause that's MY wish) as long as there's some "romance" in the romance and ... YES! and Hell Yeah!

I think you bring up a good point. The writers should look at things like this and balance it all out.

Agreed it was pretty cruel making the femshep romances the expendable ones I don't have a femshep but even I think they took it too far.

You're preaching to the choir, although I tend to get annoyed that instead of giving us Allers hair as an option as opposed to having to mod the only 'easy' way to give Shepard long hair, they put a different mask on the ugly latex dress and give that to us. However, the fact a lot- including romances are short changed with Femshep is frustrating. I've never liked Jacob, however.
