And if destiny is so much better than me3mp, then why in the hell are you hanging out in the forum?

 

Because drawing out responses like this make me laugh sometimes.  Also, the hope that ME4 will be a good game...

 

After playing Destiny I can confidently say that I finally found a worse ending than ME3

 

I should add terrible endings to the OP then. 

 

Might as well let us know what happens in the end, since I already knew the story in this game was going to be crap.

I've been hearing Destiny has a good foundation to work off of but not nearly enough content. I guess it's success will probably depend on how well and/or quickly they can flesh it out.

 

Considering the fact that ME3MP was more or less "tacked on" to the SP campaign whereas Destiny is an overhyped full price game, the fact that ME3MP can be compared to Destiny AT ALL is pretty impressive in ME3's favor. 

 

Of course I only game on PC so I couldn't really care less how well it does.

The big mistake is looking at the last scenes of ME3 as the ending.

ME3, as a whole, is the ending to the trilogy. And until those last couple of minutes, it's a good one with a lot of closure. The final closing scenes were admittedly weak, but I've definitely seen far worse, so yeah, it is not only possible for games to have a worse ending, there's a metric fustercluck of worse endings. ESPECIALLY if you go back to the NES days of killing the last boss and seeing text like "conglaturation, this story is happy end" and that's it.

When you look at it like that, the ending doesn't suck. It's less than desirable, sure, but on a scale of 1-10, with 5 being average, it's still ranging anywhere from a 4-6.

With that in mind, the "Revised Endings" needed CUTS, not additions.  They did it wrong, then they did it more wrong.  They actually made it worse

Read some good books, watch some good movies, write some original stories of your own

 

then come back to ME3 in 10 years and watch the endings again.  They don't just fail as endings, they fail as stories, which happen to be endings.

 

The Illusive Man/Shepard/Anderson portion was the only compelling part

Whoa, finally, someone on this forum who shares my opinion... I did play the extended cut though, got from "don't mind it" to "not bad" IMO.

 

Also, on topic:
Destiny is not on PC.

I really never understood why people cried and whined so much about it.  I mean they're still whining about it two years down the line. Smh.

The endings annoyed me mainly because of the pre-release nonsense Bioware spouted about the game. Of which the following is just one egregious example.

Ok my two cents, worth probably less than that.

 

ME3 - great game that we all have come to know and love.  But now two years out is a bit dated and dull.  Its game engine is showing its age as are the graphics.  But playability is still pretty amazing. But remember, when it first came out, people complained about the MP, about the story game, etc., etc..  They honed it over time and it became better.  Most people playing the ME3MP from the Beta would say the game is pretty different from when it was first out.

 

Destiny - Impressive graphics and decent gameplay.  I think it will get better since it is only the first release of the game.  They have made a 500 million dollar, ten year commitment to that game.  So I think (I would hope) it will get better over time.  It has some features that are better than ME3MP and some that are worse.  But it is new and will need some time to modify things. Etc.   I especially hope they work on the weapon mods and class features.  Maybe add some more classes and enemies.  Remember we originally only had a few classes and three enemy types for ME3MP. 

 

So while the games are both "Space Operas" and MP/Story based, they really are different games.  One doesn't have to be better than the other.  You can like both.  Or even neither (but I would wonder why you would be posting here then).

Maybe my apathy to the plight is due to the fact that I didn't read any of the pre-release stuff. I didn't even know there was going to be a multiplayer, and didn't touch it for months. All I knew was ME2 was one of my favourite games, and I'd loved the series up to that point.

 

I actually quite enjoyed the SP, and completed 4 playthroughs, but once I got into MP, I never looked back.

I've not actually played Destiny so in terms of rating it I'll have to stick to my PC master race comments, but BioWare had absolutely nothing in terms of multiplayer games to start with before ME3, at least not the studios in Edmonton and Montreal, whereas Bungie already has a lot of experience with multiplayer FPS on consoles, so I don't think it needs any more of a "break to start" than ME3 MP does.

We're not the ones crowning games that appear to be mediocre at best at the moment...

One of the reasons ME3 is still my goto game. Is that you are able to enjoy your customized characters in game and not just see a gun and a couple of hands!!

Besides playing 1st person perspective makes me dizzy! They have already lost me from the start making it (Destiny) a 1st person shooter.
