I'm at The Siege Begins quest where we are defending the keep and Garius enters.

According to one of the wiki's, some other shadow creature is also supposed to enter with him.

But, it never does. I can pound and pound on Garius for infinity to no avail. And using the name scroll on him also does nothing.

The last time I loaded the saved game, Garius didn't even show up. And yes, I am using the Gith blade.

I believe the issue is that he seems to start fighting before he's done talking. His next line of text will show up, he will begin to say it, then he'll start attacking some stuff on the side of the screen (or he will walk too close to the side and get attacked himself) and not finish saying his line. I think this interruption could be the issue, but I don't know how to get around it.

If I can't get past this quest I will invariably wasted countless hours playing this game. Which is sad because I bought the game when it came out, but this is the first time I ever got any distance past the intro. Neverwinter 1 > Neverwinter 2.

Thanks

This is not a "technical response or solution" but do you have a recent reload ?

I have found this many times.

1) You fight off the undead waves.

2) Garius shows up.

then.....

If Garius "runs to his left - your right where your castle troops are fighting" it fails to spawn the shadow avatar

If Garius stays more or less in the center of the gate area, a barrier and the shadow avatar will appear.

My consistent solution:

1) Save before confrontation

2) Exit to desk top if the shadow avatar fails to appear

3) Load and run

4) Do NOT get anxious on the mouse... slow down don't click ... let the script run.

For what ever reason when I reload the entire game the script seems to fire; but not just on reloads from menu.

Must have to do with Make safe function or something ; perhaps you still have lingering area spells etc.

Thanks. This appears to be what I am experiencing. I shall try it later.
