Peace Walker is an official MGS, what are you on about?

Nah, you're right. I wasn't gonna take it that seriously anyway.

I'm guessing you are objecting to the use of "guess?" Well I took out the guess so....

I guess I just wonder if the open world thing will make MGS kinda emptier feeling/seeming, I'm sure it'll be interesting... I think... possibly... maybe...

No, I was merely questioning why you'd think of not including Peace Walker given that's no less a MGS than Snake Eater was. So there

As for the second point. I don't overly see the point of making it open world myself -- I made a point like that earlier, that tighter area designs can leave for a much more memorable experience, see Big Shell or Shadow Moses, the Asylum in Arkham Asylum, the mansion in Resident Evil or Silent Hill the town from.. well Silent Hill. Going open world has the tendency of, as you say, leaving a lot of empty forgettable space at the expense of something memorable and tighter to explore. Far Cry comes to mind in that regard, along with a few other recent open world games -- It's not all black & white though but I feel there needs to be a balance instead of the industry's tendency to either to go the one way or the other. In Metal Gear's case, I don't see how it's gonna help the stealth mechanics, if anything it feels like the games have embraced the action-shooter genre entirely since Guns of the Patriots and I'm not liking it.

You should try 3 everyone likes 3 it seems. Not sure how a hot dog will adjust to the controls but if you flop around a lot I'm sure you'll pull off some awesome CQC combos. :wizard:

My old Roommate has the HD collection, I might try to borrow it from him or buy it off Ebay (I've only had a PS3 since last May).

I've always wanted to play Snake Eater, but my parents had the stupid "if it's M, you can't play it until your 17" rule. I had to beg for Fable and Halo 3, beg I tell you. I did get them to give up on the rule when I was 16, because I had a job.

The videos of Big Boss eating snakes always looked awesome

Why is this even a surprise after the cash grab that was GZ?

Screw these devs, not buying PP ever.

I'll just wait for it to drop in price massively. It's not like I have a PS4 yet anyways.

I´ll get it for PC.

I need every ounce of MGS melodrama goodness in my veins as soon as possible.

Unless Kojima has retconned even more of his pre-established lore, then the timeline would dictate that Big Boss should come across Jaegar and Naomi Hunter around the time of Phantom Pain. Although that was in Mozambique so maybe Kojima is going to throw that plotpoint into a bin unless he makes an off-hand reference to it in-game. I don't know though. Wolf was born in Iraq around the time where Big Boss is supposedly in Afghanistan, so that wouldn't be much of a stretch to think she's there too in some form.

Ouch. That slippery slope of microtransactions. Wonder how bad this will be?

I thought the Afrika stage was Mozambique.

Is there an African stage in the game? The clinic he wakes up in is presumably somewhere in the colonies, that's what I originally presumed a while back, given the accent of the doctor and the UK flag hanging in the background. But it doesn't seem like there's gonna be much gameplay beyond escaping from that institution.. unless you're talking about something else entirely.

Wha? Dude, there's totally an Afrikan stage. It was revealed at E3 2014 and then Kojima did a playthrough of a mission there at TGS.

DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD

Anyway, fair enough, I didn't know that as I haven't followed what has been released because I just don't care all that much about the franchise anymore.

Well in that case it wouldn't be far fetched to assume as much but I wouldn't be surprised if it's ultimately retconned to an unspecified degree.

According to a Dutch Gaming Magazine, you can kill Child Soldiers in TPP but it will have negative consequences that you must deal with.

Well....can't wait to see the cries and outrage.
