A writer at the Mary Sue got around to playing Dragon Age: Origins after it had been collecting dust for a while in her collection. Her observations are amusing (she totally cried when Alistair dumped her after the Landsmeet). She made a few noob blunders, like taking a while to understand you could talk to people at camp and not recruiting Sten. It's worth a gander.

One of the perks of a spoiler-free first time playthrough is all the horrible mistakes you can make that you can fondly reminisce later.

Ahh, there's nothing like your first time.

Even if you do build your character crappily and run them into the ground.

Blind playthrough is the most fun gaming experience. I wish I could erase my memories with some of the best games I've already played(DA:O, Baldur's Gate, Torment, etc) so I could relive that experience.

We are still talking about games, right?
