Is Hawke's part in Thedas's history going to be seen as negative? (Hawke as the anti-Warden)

Is Corypheus supposed to play a major role in DA:I? (I've been avoiding spoilers for the most part.) I tend to think he'll be at most a minor factor since he's a DLC character.

He's going to be in it somewhere as his release looks like it is going to have some fairly major consequences. He will probably appear as a mid-boss part way through the game. I just hope he's as tough a fight as he was in Legacy. It would be a shame if he succumbed to Villain Decay.

Hmmm...so Legacy will be assumed to have happened off-screen if you didn't play it and/or don't select it through the Keep? I guess they can get away with that if Hawke is a relatively minor character in DA:I.

But if they thought Hawke was in league with Anders, why would they think he or she would help them?

I kicked Anders out of Kirkwall in the playthrough I just finished, precisely because I didn't want him to be associated with Hawke or anyone else who sided with the mages once the dust settled. While my sympathies were more with the mages than with the templars, I was trying to keep things from boiling over and saw blowing up the Chantry as both an act of murder and terrorism and an escalation at the worst possible time.

Though, given how little reliable information Pentaghast seems to have, I suppose one can't count on that having been reported accurately. I *think* I took a fairly moderate tone with Leliana when she showed up at the Chantry, though I may have still picked the most pro-mage choice on the wheel.

Well Hawkes reputation  is honestly not that important to me because in my opinion he was just there a observer the fact is Anders was the actual main character not Hawke and there is not one thing in DA2 that wasnt Hawke related "Family and Stuff" that could have still been in DA2 without hawke and with Anders as the PC.

The Deep Roads Expedition:

As mentioned Dougal had the money so Hawke wasnt really needed

The Qunari Arc:

Hawke can kill The Arishok but in truth any PC could have "Anders"

The Ending:

This isnt even a issue the events with the Chantry would always happen even without Hawke

Legacy:

This one could have been available without Hawke as well because the Blood of The Hawke thing felt like a forced tie to the PC and Bioware could have just made it be about The Wardens and Corypheus.

Now dont get me wrong I love my Hawkes but they really didnt need to be there in DA2 in constant spectator mode but thats not Hawkes fault no the blame rests with Bioware and DA2s writing/Choices. <_<

Using that logic, anyone could have blown up the chantry it's just simply rewriting the character into the spot.

Even if the achievement turns out to be real, I seem to recall that I have an achievement for defeating that same evil in DA2 :)

To address a couple of these:

The Deep Roads Expedition:

Sure, Dougal can finance the expedition himself (my Hawke provided her own coin anyway). Whether or not it was totally necessary at that point doesn't matter. In the end, Hawke is still free of any obligation to a third party who will not even be going on this expedition should she choose to simply pay her own way. After all, Dougal is hoping to get some money back on the deal. He isn't doing it out of kindness.

The Qunari Arc:

The most likely outcomes of Anders being by himself in Kirkwall would be that he dies fighting the qunari, he flees Kirkwall, or he hunkers down in darktown waiting for the whole thing to blow over. Without Hawke, Anders would not know the captain of the guard, he would not know anything about the Arishok, and would be in no position whatsoever to deal with Knight-Commander Meredith, provided he even had the inclination to go anywhere near her at the time. He would have been in the dark about the whole thing, and would just know that the city is under attack. The most he would be able to do would be to take some wounded into his clinic, and perhaps hide some fleeing people, but that's about it. Where Hawke has the advantage is actually dealing with and getting to know both the allies and the enemies more closely, and of course being a person of note in the city well before this is happening. Heck, if not for Hawke, Anders could just as well have died trying to save Karl from the Circle, as he would have been ambushed alone.
