I suggest keep it simple for less risk of bugs and false positives.

 

An option could be sometimes ask to download and run an updated audit tool to check the game integrity.

 

Who doesn't do that would just more likely be watched.

 

Ban is radical and requires a detailed confirmation.

 

Lighter penalties would require less confirmation work like:

- Stop to count ranking points or block MP for some time.

- Reset ranking points if repeats.

It was BSNers who hacked the crap out of the game files.
It was BSNers who found and promoted the missile glitch.
It was BSNers who promoted all the farming techniques.
It was BSNers who promoted the Invincible Vorcha glitch.
It was BSNers who promoted the weapon weight glitches.
It was BSNers who promoted reload cancelling.
It was BSNers who promoted off map camping.
It was BSNers who promoted the 6/6/6/6/6 glitch.
It was BSNers who promoted the incendiary cheese glitch.
I could keep going...

Basically, it was BSNers who promoted EVERY mistake BioWare has made with this game. Lots of the "famous" OG BSNers and YouTube Video Darlings were originally missile glitchers and advantageous lolpeaseahaxors too. BioWare turned a blind eye to almost all of them. Fanboys of Fanboys. They were important members of the community, so they should be given a break?!! Really?!! I don't even...

Working as Intended™


BW will continue to do the half-assed policing of their games in the future. It cost money and man hours to keep up with cheating, and they're not going to pony up that kind of dough (*cough* EA *cough*). BSNers will still find ways to take advantage. It's impossible to stop cheating, but I applaud BW for at least trying... somewhat.

I just hope the next game doesn't get as bad as the Missile Glitch Era. Those were some terribly dark times. It was almost impossible to find a straight pug game, and pug games are what many of us enjoy the most. At least MGing is less frequent now.



Overall though, it was a decent start for BW in the mp realm. Keep pushing forward...

The only way to prevent cheating is if they didn't make the game. There will always be a way to cheat.

Just do a major overhaul of the store. No more Ultra Rares, no more RNG, make sure people can buy what they want. All this will make sure people don't have to cheat. Or just give everyone all the items and characters ar the start. If you already have everything, there's no need to cheat.

Now, you just have take care of the cheaters that do the missile glitch, etc. Who are the real vermin, imo. They break the game more, than any credit hacker ever could. And it's EA's greed that was the idea behind the broken store anyway. So, fix the store first. No more Bioware Points, no more Ultra Rares, and just make sure people can unlock everything in less than 100 hours. This will lead to less frustration and desperation. The game is the most fun, when you have everything anyway.

If you don't like cheating, don't cheat.  If you don't like taking advantage of exploits, don't.

 

Control is impossible.  Others are gonna do what they're gonna do.  No point whining about it.  Look to your own.  Find what you like.

 

For example: I like PUGs.  Never know what's gonna happen.  Tend to be pleasantly surprised, considering I expect the worst.

 

Server-side.  At least on this you'd think Bioware'd have their **** together by now.  Hopefully ME4MP will demonstrate progress.

 

Keep lots of munchies next to your game.  Lots.
